I agree, too much hype for my liking. Talks of up to 1000% returns :)

    [OPINION] Old Bears Strike Back

This goes back a bit to the post I wrote about sourcing your bears and that buying OMP and sending for grading is all a gamble. I see the OMP stock decreasing in quality as people pick up the good bears and grade them, then return the rest to circulation. Your chances of picking up an OMP that...

What is the best coin capsule for the silver 10z panda

    Probably acrylic like the airtites.

    [Translation] Mr. Ge's Panda Book

Stupid question time, what exactly is in the price guide? Is it a monthly thing like Pricepedia, or a one-off publication? Are there photos or just text? Would someone who can only read English be able to work out what anything means in it? Definitely interested, pending the above :)

    Great Starter SS Buy

However, keep in mind that the set has been put together by a 3rd party and the panda coin is not in original mint packaging. But interesting to see them all together as a package.

10 oz Silver Coin arrived in poor condition; what to do?

Who/what is GS? Were any photos of the item available? Have you tried contacting them?

    kookaburras vs koalas

Rbaggio's numbers match what I have, which were sourced from the mint. My prediction is that this year will be a massive mintage for the Koalas (due to the sellouts of the Dragons and Kooks), so older year Koalas will see a nice spike as their "rarity in the series" will increase.

Buying recommendations for easily available coins

There are still stated mintage limits on the gold pandas. For example, the 2012 1oz Panda is 600,000.

    New panda collector

Also important to find out whether you are a collector or investor. If I was only "collecting" and could spend let's say $3000/year, I would prefer to be adding a small coin every month or two instead of one big one a year, at least to start with. I believe that there are bargains around...

    Quick way to test gold

Probably the same smell as gold plating :P 1) Scales 2) Check against known dimensions 3) Specific gravity In that order.

Smarter people own shares, study finds

Higher IQ = most likely higher income = greater ability to afford investments. It's not rocket surgery. Also in breaking news, those in housing commission are less likely to own investment properties.

Has anybody bought coins from this site?

Never heard of them before. I would recommend that you look elsewhere for a dealer with a good reputation amongst forum members here if you wish to make a purchase. No point taking the risk and going with an unknown which can't be vouched for by reputable people amongst the forums.

    Shanghai. Part I

I wish I was in the silver game a few years ago when I went to Shanghai. You never really know where the city begins and stops. Looking forward to part 2 :) Also this thread is lacking photos!!!

if you were reconfiguring 300 oz generic stack to numismatics ...

Just remember with the 2012 Pandas that it will be the highest mintage limit they have ever seen. While it would be nice to have a few of them they don't have the same restricted supply drivers as older years, so are unlikely to see the same sort of gains. I think the Lunars are a pretty safe...

[Opinion] Protecting the bears for less than a cent :)

+1 for doing the same. There are a large variety on eBay all for about those prices. I also have slabs in bigger ziplock bags.
