Real time payments overhaul coming in 2017 for Aus banks

Used to be, back in the day (and I'm not sure if it's changed since I was involved), as you say the last three digits are the branch number. First two are the institution number, and third digit is the state number (and that used to be based mostly on the significant digit of the old STD codes...

Meet the new Boss - GST 2016

Never thought I'd ever say this, but I actually would like the above to happen. Probably more accurate to say - let the SHTF, let's "pay the piper" as it were, reset the whole shebang, and start afresh. It's the economic "hanging around on death's door" that's getting old and tired.

    $US Bank Account from Australia?

The other option for you is to get yourself set up with an account at Euro Pacific Bank - it's Peter Schiff's crowd: https://europacbank.com/ You will need to send them ID - certified copies are fine, but they do need to comply with "Know your customer" rules. IMHO the advantage here is that...

    Cyber bullying

Yay, and thank you. Maybe we can get back to working together as a small community, sharing knowledge and opinions with our fellow stackers in a respectful and positive atmosphere. I'm sure I'm not the only one that due to the atmosphere in certain sub sections here has stopped coming by as...

pmc ounce ? has this been discussed before?

I speak only personally - but If this is in Delaware, USA, how am I going to lay my hands on the metal if I want to? What bona-fides has this company established in terms of honesty of trade etc? It seems to me, I am again left holding a paper claim to something physical, which is all fine...

Pool Allocated, Allocated or Unallocated Silver

I took this from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_repatriation#Germany It's important to note that after requesting their gold to be repatriated (returned), and being told it would take quite some years to do this (one can begin to think up reasons why), the Germans politely asked the US Fed...

    your avatar

Hand made for me by a wonderful person from another forum. Unfortunately, I've lost contact with them, but I keep using it because it's quite appropriate :) My other hope is that one day, the artist may recognise their work and we may yet get back in touch :)

Barefoot- Stackers, Their Wives and Stocks

The USD price of gold in 1802 was $19.39 per ounce (http://onlygold.com/Info/Historical-Gold-Prices.asp). This means at that time, you'd have purchased 1.606 grams of gold. The *lowest price* in USD for gold during 2013 (comparative year) was $1195 per ounce, $38.36 per gram...

US$1070 gold spot in the next few days

That I'm not sure :) A rally I think we will get, for how long and how far, I don't know. Of course, these are all just personal opinions!

US$1070 gold spot in the next few days

May well be right, but I'd be looking toward a rally in the coming 6-7 days or so.

About that safety deposit box debate....

Whilst I respect your opinion, I would argue that a bank SDB is riskier than a private facility. We all now know that banks in at least 2 countries have closed their doors to the public - one somewhat more expected than the other, admittedly. Yet I cannot think of the last time I heard of a...

About that safety deposit box debate....

Thanks trew, I was just about to post something similar in response to Jim4Silver's comments, and I think you've hit the nail smack on the head with your analysis :)

About that safety deposit box debate....

From what I know, it's simply a matter of choosing the level of cover required, and then paying the premium. If memory serves, it's around $40 per year per $10,000 coverage. You do not need to disclose what is contained in the box. I am not sure what happens if one were to declare a higher...

About that safety deposit box debate....

In answer to a few comments above, if you have your stack at a private storage facility, they offer (providing they're a reputable crowd) quite affordable insurance cover. It would be utter madness IMO to place ones stack there without insurance on it.

"Back to Top" link at the bottom of all threads

Not sure with browsers other than IE, but the "Home" key works nicely to ramp back to the top of the page, in case that helps :)

About that safety deposit box debate....

I will completely agree with you that keeping a significant amount of precious metals at home is probably not very safe. However, here's the contrarian point of view to your argument "Has there been any recent example of this (being confiscation from Safe Deposit Boxes) happening in a developed...

About that safety deposit box debate....

You make the blanket assumption that every "SDB" is inside a bank? This is not necessarily the case, and recent history in Cyprus (let alone now Greece) should tell many that a bank SDB is about the last place you should hold your stack ;)
  19. M

Exactly the situation many here claim to STACK FOR.

I can't speak for anyone else other than myself, but if the extent of your preparations for economic collapse start and stop with the purchase and holding of precious metals, then one simply hasn't done their homework IMO. The point of precious metals is to bring value forward from present time...

    The wanderer

Honestly, I could think of little else that would be more enjoyable than spending several days just gently meandering my way along the east coast of Tas. Nice video, thank you for sharing. To be honest, I could easily meandering anywhere else though the state too :)
