    Online resources for free information

I've owned and read a few books, some were more helpful than others. Probably the most valuable thing I've read so far that really helped me to change my attitude and learn a lot about wealth and those that earn it, was How Rich People Think, which I read in .pdf form for free. I'm not looking...

One year of daily wear and tear on an ASE looks like this

I could do other coins and compare them, but if I want to maintain continuity I'll have to do it in the exact same way which would be tediously time consuming just for a few pictures. But if I do, I will probably do a Maple next because I'm curious to see if it tarnishes more easily or more...

One year of daily wear and tear on an ASE looks like this

This ASE is the only coin I have that I leave out or really handle at all. I won't ever sell it, so it isn't an issue. If I was just buying silver for weight and didn't care about condition I wouldn't buy ASEs.

Sorry, don't know why the picture flipped sideways.

One year of daily wear and tear on an ASE looks like this

The one on the right is my first silver purchase ever, which I always keep in my back pocket, so it never even rubs together with other coins or keys. It's been slightly more than a year, but not by much. I was surprised at how noticeable it was when I actually put them side by side.

    keeping perspective

If Bill Gates dropped a $100 bill on the ground, it would literally not be worth his time to pick it up, considering the amount of money he makes per second ($114.16 at the time of writing this).

Would you buy UGLY silver (for below spot)?

Depends on what spot is! Melt value will always be there for you, so if the current spot price is to your liking and you can get silver, regardless of what it looks like, BELOW a spot price that you're already comfortable with, then go for it I say.

What 'should' be the current price of silver?

I love how hard it is to get a straight answer around here, even if you're only asking for opinions! Thank you Pirocco, but I hope you're not insinuating that I am a complaining sucker, because I've never complained (not publicly or in my head) of the current spot price. I come up with these...

What 'should' be the current price of silver?

It seems that many, if not the vast majority of people here feel that silver is currently undervalued. Then, given the dollar's current buying power, what would be an appropriate price at this time? Just opinions for the sake of discussion. Feel free to expand on any reasons for your opinion...

Will there be a silver mania? If so, how will it affect you?

Well... That's what people SAY lol. But we don't know what changes could come decades from now. Maybe an official crypto currency is next on the list, and maybe it fails miserably. Full circle history repeats itself etc. who knows? Phrenzy good input, I need to be thinking about the next step...

Will there be a silver mania? If so, how will it affect you?

I don't know what the magical number would be but what's important is the mindset. $50+ WOULD be new territory, so it COULD stir up a lot of confidence which could boost the price more. Say it goes 60, 70, 80, maybe even reaches that $150, having bought at $15 are you still going to think it's a...

Will there be a silver mania? If so, how will it affect you?

More important than any actual hypothetical 'moon' number is the hive mind mentality surrounding such an event. Mass confidence levels. Will you view things differently than the average person, having bought in while those confidence levels were low? If silver starts to climb and the general...

    My First Silver Purchase

That's something I've learned on here, though not first hand. I don't know how all that works exactly. Am I betting on a set period of time? I don't know anything beyond that I feel current levels are going to look low to future levels, which may be one year, five years, or twenty years from...

    My First Silver Purchase

So where are we now on that graph? It's probably a smart time to buy. Consumer confidence in silver is low, so that's good for us for now. Do you see this graph as something that repeats itself at different levels or a big future event? Mmissinglink I'm curious since you bought in around $35...

Should I be worry of my 1 oz APMEX silverbar?

You don't have to be an expert to do the simple tests I suggested. If you are confident your maple is pure silver, and it probably is, then strike it and listen to the ring. I find it works best to kind of hit it up into the air so you get the full sound. Simply compare that sound to the bar...

Should I be worry of my 1 oz APMEX silverbar?

If you don't have anything else (I.e. A strong magnet, a scale, acid tests) at the very least compare rings by striking them. If that one sounds noticeably different than your other silver ounces then it might be a fake. You can also put an ice cube on each of your silver products (assuming...

FAKE good-looking Perth Mint gold bars

It's not something that everyone should do but maybe a youtuber with a strong following could purchase one to highlight the differences for his viewers, which surely has already been done.

Will we see $14 silver again

Right so it's OUR fault, once again. Many Americans are waking up to the fact that this is no longer a democracy, it's quite frankly an aristocracy. The rich buy the politicians. The people are only given an illusion of power, that their vote will make some difference in the nation or even the...
