The Curious Case Of The $1000 5oz Silver Bar

It's a beauty for sure-and great to see another 5oz "type". Interesting that a few have been seen recently but then you won't see another one for years. *Bonus seeing "Ted" flash through the screen as you scrolled down :)

alor: haha you jest :) I wouldn't doubt other numbered or lettered versions of the under 100g do exist. I don't think I've seen an E or F but I have also never seen the 350 gms and 110 gram posted above by Bigfella. So many of these things were melted down. Hard to find but not impossible.

I haven't found much info out there. Someone posted here on SS a newspaper advert clipping showing the same style ABC gold ingots, from memory it was 1980's (I think). https://cdn0.rubylane.com/_pod/item/1431188/0184/Vintage-Australian-Bullion-Company-ABC-99-full-3-2048-45.jpg "This is to...

    Resource to identify silver bars

A good place to start... http://allengelhard.com/the-collections/lesser-refiners/perth-mint/ The site is great for photo examples and some estimated mintages. It will not answer all your questions though Your best bet is to dig here at silver stackers and search for more info.. just asking a...

Perth Mint 2018 Silver Swan available

I've been watching the Apmex shenanigans... 2018 BU first listed yesterday for 27USD - then upped to 37USD - now sitting at 47.75USD. They have the 2017 bullion version 104USD.

    Perth Mint silver bar styles

Awesome hotchef! no such thing as normal - and that is one reason they are attractive. Most odd weight 10oz fluctuate a little over rather than under. In my opinion "under" 10oz is rarer than "over" 10oz but I only base that on what I have seen available for sale. Used to be quite few...

    Perth Mint silver bar styles

sbc, it's a generic Perth Mint logo which was an option for their custom minting service. Company logo on the reverse.. for promotional /corporate gifts or commemorative medals. Similar to the Perth Mint 90th Anniversary and “Fine Silver Piece” medallions made in the 1980's and 1990's...

Great point...it will be interesting to see how Perth Mint explain and compare the crypto security to their physical vaults.

Perth Mint developing their own cryptocurrency

If Perth Mint gets it right it could be interesting. Stacking small amounts, divisions of grams even grains down to the smallest theoretical (or physical) size would not be difficult. Kicking it off at the start of a slow run up in metal prices at least makes the whole idea somewhat appealing...

Great new bullion series from the Royal MInt: The Queens Beasts

Melbournemintcoins have them (Unicorn) AU$85.00 each. Pricey- heh! RoyalMintBullion - out of stock today but converts to about AU$59 when they are available. They had them last month but sold out quickly. Have to keep watching to catch them there. With RoyalMintBullion you will lose out with...
