Software and Apps for keeping track of your portfolio

google docs --> spreadsheet. I can keep track of all bullion, US junk silver, Canadian Junk silver and "other" and add them up and calculate their value based on a cell that fetches spot prices from kitco or apmex. I can download it to my computer in an excell readable format or I can share it...

My 2011 Suburban Park Prospecting results...

I would support a motion to create a thread called "Lucky finds" or similar that would include; metal detecting, garage sales, estate sales, live auctions (I picked up over a $1200 in junk US silver coins one day for $450 at a live auction in Texas!), or just finding stuff on the ground as you...

Max amount of silvers to bring through international airport

re glove: they're usually wearing latex gloves when they look through your stuff. I brought about 100 oz Ag and 6 odd oz of Au into NZ last september on my carry-on. Not wise to risk checking it. The silver I just said up front, I know you're going to want to inspect this so let's please do...

    Think these are fake

I'm sorry joey, you're 100% wrong on understanding this specific gravity thing. If you cut the bar in half then yes, your displacement mass will be half, but so will be the half bar that you are weighing, hence the ratio will be the same. if you divide the bar's mass by its water displacement...

    Think these are fake

NO. specific gravity is independent of weight. silver is silver. density is density. For "fun," i tested an ASE, an Engelhard round, and a Sunshine round. The range I got was 10.39 - 10.42 which I'm happy with considering my crap scale and lowering the pieces in by hand.

    Think these are fake

i think that's too light. 31 maybe 30.9x is all I'd tolerate. edit: I noticed your SG test thread ... so did these light bars test out OK?

    Think these are fake

so a known fake one, had the exact same sound as a known real one? for some it might be hard to remember the pitch, so put one on your index and one on you middle finger and tap one right after the other.

    Think these are fake

I've found a great way to test bars or coins. Just balance it carefully flat on your finger with your finger in the middle and tap it with something else metal. Compare it to something that you're sure of. The one with more copper in it will ring higher pitch every time since copper carries...

Age Old Debate: Silver Maple Leafs vs. ASEs

I hate to break it to you kid, but if you think there is any difference in the long-term destructiveness of the idiot-left wing and the idiot right wing, then you've been had. It's now all the same Kool-aid. Just one is red and one is blue. I used to hoard copper too. I realized it was...

Pandas on Trade Me (New Zealand)
