    Silver seems to be stuck

From 1975 to 2012, an average 57.4 oz. of silver has bought 1 oz. of gold. Today it takes 64.3 oz. Silver is currently undervalued in my view. Platinum is also looking attractive, but it's still in my "hold" range. Platinum Hoard when 0.7 - 0.8 oz. gold buys 1 oz. platinum Accumulate when 0.8...

Pandas vs. eagles. Have fun. :-)

Until Pandas match the mintage of Eagles, they'll outperform. And even then, they'll still outperform because collectors will want the different design each year for their collection. I've personally stopped collecting pandas for myself, however. I buy to sell, and reinvest the profits in bars...

    Sending sheets to NGC

Only send the coins worth grading. Any with nicks or rubs or spots of any kind I would skip. Sending in a sheet gives them more coins to compare so only send the best. If you have other graded coins compare the quality of the omp to those.

NGC labeling error. Is this a 1995 microdate?

There are 3 varieties. Large Twig Large Date Short Twig Small Date Short Twig Micro Date That coin is a Short Twig Small Date. The micro date has a smaller date stamp. The Short Twig Small Date is similar in size to the Large Date but the font is slightly different.

    2012 1/20 gold panda

$117 is pretty standard price. New issues generally get released around $120 USD. But Thor is right, you can find already graded ones for between $125-140. About $170 if you want MS70. Where you start is up to you.

    White/Copper Spots Experiment

I believe it can be worth the effort under certain circumstances (value/condition of the coin, correct use, cautious handling, etc.). Excluding submission form fees, NGC World Modern is $16.50 per coin. NCS World Modern is $26.50 per coin, and there is no guarantee that they will actually do...

    White/Copper Spots Experiment

LOL, of course it is controversial, especially when you find a board with old school coin collectors. The truth is, anything that has to do with "cleaning" a collectible coin is controversial to somebody in the coin world. It is inevitable. I've read threads about NCS where numismatists consider...

    White/Copper Spots Experiment

I concur. This stuff works really well on surface contamination, including PVC. If done carefully and thoroughly, you can get great results and avoid damage to the coin. White spots and copper spots that are from substances in the metal itself cannot be removed with this stuff, but that...

Has the Perth Mint ruined the Lunar Coin Market

Yep, I sold multiple S1 sets with the original red presentation box between $1,200 - $1,250 USD. Most loose coins were going for $85+ with dragon, snake, horse and ox all pushing $100 or above.

Has the Perth Mint ruined the Lunar Coin Market

I've never had a harder time selling a complete Series 1 set in the box, or Series 2 set in the box than I have now. I'm not even getting offers PM'd. Pretty discouraging.

    NGC pvc contamination article

You really have to know what is causing the spotting, meaning is it something on the surface/environmental, or is it actually in the metal. The explanation of the white spots/stains from chemical contamination during the minting process is what myself and many others who have contacted NGC/NCS...
