NZ Mint new release coming up Anne Geddes baby series

I'm not sure that young mommies would even know these coins exist. Don't know of any personally that cruise coin websites  I've never seen anything special about this series myself. The first 2 coins were basically a photo printed on a flat flan. This one doesn't look much better

2012 H/R 4 coin set Koo, Koala, Dragon, Roo

Missed out on this set but wondering what others are thinking of the prices in this "moving sale" thing they have going? I've never been good at valuing based on prior demand or silver content, seems to be a bunch of people here who are though :) I tend to be more an aesthetic buyer, but there...

NZ Mint new release coming up - T. E. Lawrence, or 'Lawrence of Arabia

Well, it's the 125th anniversary of his birth. He's a famous historical figure, popularised further by a critically acclaimed movie...that's a lot more cause than a LOT of other coins that get released ;) Of all the NZ Mint stuff this is probably the LEAST gimmicky haha But in saying that the...

Someone may not like this fact but animals are the most popular....

You realise you're on the internet, right? You're just a search away from more smut that you could possibly handle. Why would you need it plastered on coins?

Didn't take long...Royal Baby Commemoraitve Silver Coin

I only heard the news on my way to work and by the time I got my computer on there was already an advert for the first of the Royal Baby commemoratives! They work fast these days! At least with this one the Royal Mint didn't have to worry about getting the likeness right ;) Source...

    New Mystery Coin by ECI/Downies

Yeah, this is clearly a coin for collectors, not stackers. I'm not surprised by the reaction here. That being said I'm getting one, simply because it looks good and it's a different theme to what we're used to. I'm so over animals and mythical creatures at the moment!

Kazakhstan (The Great Commanders) - Attila the Hun - Scourge of God

The central area is gold-plated. I don't call these bi-metal, just selectively gold-plated. Bi-metal to me are like the Austrian Silver & Niobium coins, but to each their own :) The first 3 coins in this series have selective gold-plating, however for me the Attila coin is by far the best...

NZ Mint auctioning off Dr Who Coin number 00001 on Ebay.

I think they are just trying to add some extra "hype" with their phrasing. It's not like they're going to be releasing two coins with #143 certs or anything haha

NZ Mint auctioning off Dr Who Coin number 00001 on Ebay.

I'd go even further and say this is for Dr Who collectors in general. eBay is a great format to sell to a wider market when it comes to popular culture coins, who might otherwise have not even known the coin exists. You've got to take the product TO the market, not wait for the market to find...
