I think you're overanalyzing. The market is panicked and pretty irrational. On Monday you might see a 'buy the dip' similar to 12 months ago (futures market is betting this way) or total panic similar to 33 years ago.

The widespread fears of the unknown actually remind me most of the month following Sept 11, 2001. Not really knowing whether to buy, sell or hold, and a still quite frothy market slowly bled out. Also reminded by my better half this morning that the 2009 swine flu was at least 50x more deadly...

People panicking and running to cash. Selling everything including gold ETFs. Physical gold that was backing paper is sold too. Physical gold market is very thin and it's not an easy order to fill without major slippage ???

I really don't believe Pt is a feasible substitute for Pd unless Pt price fell maybe into double digits. The costs of substitution would be absolutely massive i.e. re-tuning engines and meeting EU an USA-CA emission regs and we're only talking $100 of Pd in your average $30,000 car.

IMO , probably not gold. It's back to where it was pricewise before virus fears. Back to being a steadily rising hedge against the US economy and stock markets. Silver for all intents and purposes is unrelated to gold, priced on industry rather than hedge, and its industries aren't looking so...

Insanely corrupt. Government corruption and withholding electricity is a major factor for high price. But its being used in applications where it can be easily recycled. Seems to me like there is more going on with pd than meets the eye. I didn't understand it so I stayed away.
