I've been to a few party room functions over the years and I'd say most of the Liberal Party members are far more true to their origins than the plethora of crappy socialist policies that are actually being implemented alongside the better management. The parties that are actually true Classical Liberals or Libertarian are few and far between (hence why the list of good alternatives is unfortunately so short). It's so much easier to promise the world by unsustainable taxing and spending than to actually deliver a functioning, welfare enhancing economy by limiting the power of government to being a Protectorate. Sadly most people don't see the difference and would rather misuse the government's geographic monopoly on violence to their own ends (immoral, selfish pricks).

I really thought a PM forum might contain a but more intelligence. For that matter how are there not options available that are readily understood representing a more libertarian standpoint. You talk to people you come a cross in life, most of em know they're all a pack of crooks. Most ordinary people know the politicians are shafting us, usually comes back to people choosing the lesser of two evils. I was at a school assembly recently, a class of 9 year olds read submissions they had written to their local MP. The topic was legislating for helmets to be used by scooter riders. Every child repeated the same crap about safety and the need for helmets. I thought great, if the school just got a 100% success rate in educating kids of the dangers there's no need to legislate. Then after the assembly I saw over 50 kids scooting all over the playground....... not one helmet. I guess its not dangerous until the government says so. I don't understand how people can be this stupid. The adults are no better. I honestly think there has been another step happen on the the evolutionary ladder these past couple of generations and most people have been left behind. Its like cats vs dogs the difference between those who have retained the ability to think for themselves and those who sit drooling, waiting for the master to serve up the next "news" report telling them what to think.

Marriage and family may not be for everyone but it is the natural path for most. Feminism has trained women to reject this model as "an old fashioned, oppressive stereotype" even though it reflects their natural instincts. "The trouble is that they haven't risen to the challenge of feminism. They don't understand that we need them to be more masculine, and instead they have just copped out." That's their logic? (65) 4. Sex is not reserved for love and marriage. Magazines like Glamour and Cosmopolitan urge young women to "put out on their first date,"ogle men openly" and be an athlete in bed. There is no discussion of marriage or family. (160) Such women can't trust a man enough to surrender themselves in love. 5. Self-fulfillment lies in career success and not husband and family. "The social rewards of holding down a job are critical to one's sense of dignity and self worth," Betty Friedan pontificated. In fact, "most work is deeply ordinary," Blyth observes (35-36.) (I'm not saying women can't have jobs, only they shouldn't be tricked out of having families if they want them.) Thus many women are schizophrenic as they attempt to reconcile their natural instincts with constant exhortations to do the opposite. The wreckage -- broken families and dysfunctional people -- is strewn everywhere. At the same time, Playboy Magazine etc. aimed a similar message at men. You don't need to get married to have sex. Marriage and children are a bore. CONCLUSION This consistent media drumbeat is organized brainwashing.
