Yes HSV cars was a horrible place to work and they reckoned I was too slack and was standing around too much..... They're the ones that kept running out of cars on the production line which meant we had nothing else to do..... I'm glad I don't work there anymore the workers had very bad attitudes.

Debt ceiling is just some Government stunt, I don't know why everyone cares so much.

"We saved you from impending doom!"

And then that reinforces why Americans need to be slaves to their Government.

Mate they had 60 casual workers there ALL on $21 per hour..... There was a lot of shit hanging on each going on and a lot of competitiveness to see how many cars each team could do each day...... Then they had two rdo's off in a row so no one could work.... And they kept running out of cars to fix on the production line so we had to stand around twiddling our thumbs....How is that my fault?

TheEnd, why don't you try aged care. People are not getting any younger. More stable than building sports cars.

Exactly, why would there be a demand for sports cars during bad economic times? You should try getting into aged care, or repos

Funny you should mention that actually! While working at HSV I couldn't believe how many of these 80-120k cars are being pumped out everyday...And more to the point, who the bloody hell is buying them? Luckily the liberals kept the FBT rules the same as they have been and didn't scrap them like Labor were going to hey! Or else HSV might have found themselves in some real trouble?

As far as I can tell the whole bloody system is designed to replace product every 3-5 yrs so that it keeps people employed and keeps them paying taxes every year....Gone are the days of keeping a car for 20 yrs or so?

Now its all about the latest technology and who has the most this and the most that......... I don't need all this technology crap they are trying to sell these days....Apart from internet that is!

Aged care will get you more than $21 per hour as well.

What sort of things had to be 'fixed' on brand new production units?

When I say fixed I mean things that needed to be upgraded' from the standard models. So exhaust systems and extractor systems in my area..... In the "GTS' area they were fitting all sorts of things like intercoolers, hoses, pipes, fittings etc because the GTS models have watercooled superchargers from standard!

The cars come 'standard' from Holden, then in HSV they get new bumpers, electronics, exhaust systems, upgraded brakes and wheels.
