Could be...as the price goes up so does the possibility/probability of counterfeiting. As for the COA proving it's authentic, check out this post: http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-24436-tungsten-filled-1-kilo-gold-bar-discovered-in-uk.html

That's a pretty awesome picture of a tungsten filled gold kilo-complete with COA. At least with the Wolverine if you have a known good one, you can do a pretty thorough check to verify it.

Do you think this has anything to do in justifying such upward prices in these coins ?

    source, Simon Black.

what currencies are backed by gold.

''Mongolia; this is another place worth considering. For now, gold only comprises about 5% of Mongolia's $4 billion money supply. Not much. But the important thing to pay attention to is the trend.

A few months ago, the government of Mongolia nearly doubled its gold holdings to 3.5 tons. This is a huge move.

Given the massive resources in the country (coal, copper, gold, oil, uranium, etc.), Mongolia is set to become one the world's richest countries. And I think we can expect them to continue trading out paper reserves for the gold that's already under their soil.

It's possible that, if the trend holds, Mongolia's gold holdings will back 10% to 25% of the tugrik money supply in just a few years' time. Over the same period, gold holdings in the US, UK, and Europe will probably decline to less than 2% of their perpetually inflating money supplies.

Moreover, bank accounts denominated in the Mongolian currency (tugrik) yield an impressive 13% to 15% for savers. As far as paper goes, this one actually may be worth betting on".

    ? any thoughts ?

Very interesting. I don't think it has any direct bearing on the value of the Wildlife Protection Series coins as they are low mintage, non circulating commemorative coins. However, it might increase interest in Mongolian currency as a whole. Which in turn will raise interest in all Mongolian coins, commemorative as well as circulating. It's definately positive news...which never hurts.

From the trend, I think a***b is setting auto bid at above $621 in order to outbid 7***7 at $541, however, at the same time u***t also jump in to set an autobid at $611 in order to outbid 7***7 at $541 and this has trigger a***b autobid and set a record high price for hedgehog at $621.
