There are plenty of local news stories on the subject today, but I'd thought I'd just link directly to the source, because I'm sure you guys can handle it.

This is the big thing that nobody on here really talks about. 100 pages on bitcoin, 50 on gay marriage, but I don't think that any threads on this topic have made it past 1 page.

I guess it's just too scary to have to confront this conspiracy as reality. This will be the biggest attack on sovereignty and individual liberties in our lifetimes, but instead everyone is too busy worrying about negative gearing, left vs right politics and fuccking gay marriage.

And that's on this site, I don't know anybody who knows about this outside of this site. Our media is almost completely ignoring it (except surprisingly for a couple of ABC articles) and as a result nobody has heard of it.

Come on, lets get a conversation going that doesn't depend on stupid partisan political beliefs, minorities or digital currencies.
    Look alive people!

Yeah! Right on! Forget everything you are intrested in, let's talk about something col0016 is interested in! Way to start a convo!

Do we get to vote on it? Are both political parties going to vote the same on it? They probably will if they want to stay friends with the Americans. This doesn't sound like something you can opt out of. Has anyone told GetUp! yet?

    jislizard,

Both parties have been in negotiations regarding the TPP.
If anything it was Julian Assange that made it known in his campaigning.
There were a couple of the other small parties that also brought it up.

Julie was one of the posters here that made it known on many occasions just how detrimental this would be to Australia.
As well, other posters including myself brought it up on a number of occasions.

But hey, these are supposed to be "Conspiracy Theories" that very few even bother to check it out.

The good news is that through JA, we can at least get a glimpse of the secretive TPP in one major section.
95 pgs of "New World Order" or should we be saying "Welcome to my nightmare".

In the words of WikiLeaks' Editor-in-Chief Julian Assange, "If instituted, the TPP's IP regime would trample over individual rights and free expression, as well as ride roughshod over the intellectual and creative commons. If you read, write, publish, think, listen, dance, sing or invent; if you farm or consume food; if you're ill now or might one day be ill, the TPP has you in its crosshairs."

Does it matter if you support the reds or the blues, what are the ramifications of such trade agreements if they favor Corporations over Governments and Nations.

Maybe we should investigate this thoroughly because if we don't, tomorrow might be too late.

It may well be BS but then again it may be true.

Capitalism is not like it used to be, and maybe it should be so that we can enjoy our competitive freedoms..

Sorry but GP still doesn't have a sarc tag. :(
This sort of stuff is the result of meetings such as the Bilderberg group.

It's like the ground rules of how the peoples sovereignty will be sold and decided, just another commodity to be
flogged off to the highest bidder. All in the peoples interest of course.

And then when it's wayyy to late it will be.

People tend not to be interested in important things... Like how most people don't realise that we don't actually have freedom of speech because they're not that fussed. So yes, I'm trying to encourage people to talk about it.
Even though both parties will support it I think I'll call my elected "representatives" about this.

Doesn't getup only worry about non-issues?

    Southerncross,

I thought that sheep would have been carved up by now.

What I find disappointing is that so much information with links, youtube, reports has been put on the SS forum.
Yet I wonder how many actually connect the dots.

Also wonder how many even want to know about it.

The fact that it is going to create a whole heap of new laws that will simply replace ones already in place should be a major concern. We're going to end up in a lot of trouble, especially in regards to the cost of drugs for our aging and increasingly sick population if pharmaceutical companies get their way and are able to monopolise the production and distribution of them.
