Was just watching the closing action.

20 mill shares volume through the whole day then another 20 mill shares traded at the close.

Unbelievable volume. I got into this dog today at .14c

Intend to take a quick profit hopefully.

Last time I had this one, I fortunately broke even at .67c

Up 16% today on fairly strong volume (6.2M vs 1.9M average daily volume). Family got in pretty cheap a week or two ago, pretty happy. Looks sector wide, at the other end of town Newcrest is up 9%.

Only wish I'd gone whole hog for some Newstar and Regis. Went in for some GDXJ in the states as well, let's hope this is more than a market burp, I personally think non-farms are putting the scare in people and the miners are pointing the way forward for the whole PM space, albeit in a small small first step.

What platform/company are you using to buy GDXJ? I'm interested in buying those as well as GDX and JNUG. I can through my IG account, but I don't want to buy them as leveraged futures, just normal 'shares'. I can buy them through my directshares account but not live which is no good. If I want to buy I need to put a bid before 6pm and whatever happens overnight happens. Same on the sell side also. Would be good if there was an Australian based company offering live pricing and buying/selling at night, the same way we buy ASX shares during the day.

Commsec has an international service. You have to exchange your cash by 11am to have usd in your account to trade with (instant settlement, you won't get your shares if you don't have the cash). That's a little onerous but they do give you wholesale exchange rates which is good (nice small spread). Live trading like you want. The cost per trade is a little high at $60 so no trading daily, but if you want a little gdxj then it's not so bad.

Actually signed up to get some lockheed martin but haven't done that yet.

I use interactive brokers which trades pretty much everything on the globe. For simple access to the NYSE, I would go with OptionsXpress which have a share trading platform. I think you get about half a dozen free trades too if you fund your account within a certain time of signing up.

What are the fees like? Do they offer a low spread currency conversion service?
I'd like to be picking up a few US equities in smaller batches to DCA, if I could find a cheap service out would be helpful.

What a cracking run it is having. Congrats to anyone that managed to get these around the 15 cent mark.
The weird thing is that if you did get them at that price then you are probably in a dilemma as to sell them and profit or not....
    Let me know your thoughts.

I don't think the competition was the same back then. I think evolution and northern star have or will take a lot of money that may have been destined for SLR. But having said that once gold gets over a certain point you will see SLR storming due to their margin leverage.

I'm not selling until (if of course) they hit the dollars region again, I'm in it for the long term.
I could flip for a handy profit right now, but that would be silly given they have just started a solid up-tick, and there seems to the sniff of industry recovery.
If anything I want to buy more.

I got in at 14.5c too and I'm very happy with them and in for the long haul as well but I'm pretty confident that there will be more than one decent pull back on their ultimate climb higher. A $30 usd rise in gold prices (with no corresponding rise in AUD) doesn't justify a 50% increase in market cap. Now the company might have been unfairly undervalued before, indeed I'm sure it was but at the least I wouldn't be worried that if you don't buy now that you'll be paying .35c a share on a couple of weeks (unless the crash hits and gold goes to $2000). If I get a chance I'll be buying more too but I'm holding out for around .17 ot
    18 a share.

Gold broke through the $1170 level on the back of China's inflation figures which has been a recent resistance level. If it can close above $1170 for the day/week, hopefully it should grind up to the $1200 level. I picked up SLR a little later than the rest @ $0.20 but stumped up a decent amount of green as I wanted to make sure it cleared the $0.19 resistance level. Will add more at $0.40 otherwise I'll sell if I believe gold's recent run has lost its momentum.
