a few words on the observed 'ass' bars.
have seen this on local vintage silver bars as:
    1 No stamp
    2 Cimet
3 Cimet + Single letter prefix
4 'A' stamp reminds Alcoa logo
    5 'PMI'-stamp

sizes: pre 100g to over 2kg.
both random weight and the exact weight

    overall, nice old-school poured bars.

if anyone has some information on them, please share.

It's Twins..... Same Birthday one after the other and Identical in Weight. How rare is that ? I've never seen consecutive serials in the 10ozs withe identical weight.
    Feedback appreciated.

Latest bar pickups...the Credit Suisse still in original logo packaging is more vintage than any other I've seen, and the Denron looks like it's been eviscerated

    Hey stackers,

Managed to pick up a few of these old Perth Mint 10 Oz bars. Couple of them have consecutive serials numbers.

One has some fantastic swirls. From what I have been told these type A irregular size bars.

Shame they don't make them like this anymore.

How come no one ever mentions where they find all these beauties and how much they paid for them too???

    Skyrocket, available from coin shops..

and if full retail price - wildly expensive for vintage Perth Mint bars.

i.e. the one below I bought from KJC Sydney a few months back.

They have a collectable silver bullion bar section though no nice vintage cast bars there today.

I paid $500 for this one...! ($500<-- maybe this partly explains why the price is never mentioned if bought from retail)

    Hi Stackers,

After several years of looking i was lucking enough to get three old Perth Mint circa 10 oz bars with consecutive serial numbers as well as a 9.7 oz bar which i have not seen before. These bars a quite nice in person with some beautiful cooling swirls. With regards to to securing i have seen many interesting items at markets, fairs and some stores.

    Happy Stacking

To continue with vintage NZ 'ass999' bars that surface here from time to time.

There is one on sale on TradeMe at the moment.
(It is not mine, I don't know the owner)

It sells with the original receipt, which allows to attribute the
    time the thing was poured.

    Take a look yourself.

    Hey Stackers,

My newest addition is some beautiful Perth Mint Type C 10 oz Bars and to my surprise they have consecutive serial numbers A349, A350. A351 which i have not seen before. Would love to know if any one has matching serial numbers of older bars. Also some very faint cooling swirls and great character.

    Happy Stacking

LOVE IT! If memory serves, I've seen that or similar bars as part of proof gold nugget/kangaroo proof sets that used to come in the nice wood boxes where bars like that were included as "extras".
