Very nice! I think right now BGASC has them on pre-order with the cheapest premium.

Would like some but hesitant cos the don't come in capsules. Maybe I'll wait until they start making some custom capsules for them.

Need them to be in Europe and a batch of color and gold plated will be out. Maybe some antique version.

If they did a really good job of color plus gold gilding with a low mintage such as they did with the Burning maples , these would be quite in demand.

I've used the exact same ones, they can say what they want, they WILL end up toning, count on it.

It seems there are some delays for delivery here, yet I've seen unboxings already on the net.

Ordered mine, but no show as yet .. :(

These are going into another treasure chest of mine that I hope to fill, and I hope they tone as well. I love them and highly recommend them.

I am not sure if it will 100% fit in the given capsule on the back of the high relief. I am almost certain you will not be able to fully close the capsule. The thickness of the silver round is 6.4mm according to BGASC.

Based on the comments from Silver Surfer, I sent an email to Provident asking about the discontinuation of the Privateer and this is their response:

"The best light that I can give you at this time is that the rumors are true, and that the Elemetal 2 oz Privateer Ultra High Relief Silver Round will no longer in production after June 12th. The second version will be announced soon."

    Kind regards,

    Hope this helps.

Interesting post from a new member (Silverminting101) on another forum:

"It infuriates me that people are being so secretive about the Elemetal Privateer 2oz round's. The 2oz high relief coin / round is designed to push the relief depth, and design limits of what a STACKABLE coin / round can achieve. Other 2oz high reliefs are splash minted that requires the round to have no reed's, no rim to protect the art work, and very little detail almost flat on one side.
Back to the Privateer, This was designed as a Series coin. The first Privateer coin / round showed that relief depths are not bound to the standard STACKABLE 39mm or 40mm limits. Each design in the series will be unique in that they will be each pushing different limits of the ability to go further in luster, detail, depth, design, etc..... Because of this release dates don't work well.
Just to clear the air. On June 12th all orders from all dealers / customers have to be placed with the Mint. This means that after June 12th all orders will be filled and that's it for the reverse. The skull obverse will be common in the series, and the reverse will be shown / announced around the same time.
(TEASER) There is another series that is totally different getting ready to launch. Why these rounds are not being marketed nor explained fully is a mystery to me too. I have said all I can at this point hope it shines a little light. "

    Cheers,
    Luker

    Hmm this is really interesting!
I was about to say, "Man, I cannot believe I didn't know they wanted to make a series or they are gonna stop the production of the coins." But now I know why. They are being super secretive.
If it wasn't for some emails to Provident, nobody would have known production was gonna stop. Way to not disclose that.

As far as it being a series, that is still speculation but I think it would be great! They are great rounds and I think a lot of people like them and have given good reviews.
But that just makes less sense as why to stop minting the first one! I don't get it, seems weird, but we'll see what comes of this round in a few weeks.

    Thanks for the links Luker.
