Not as "high relief" as I imagined but I like pirate theme. Heaps better than a spider! Maybe Perth Mint can take some pointers.

Anybody research capsules for these yet ?

    I don't even think the huge Y capsule ( 5.49mm inside depth ) , if you could even find a 40mm insert...would support this thickness...probably gonna need 6.3mm or 6.4mm depth minimum ?

I will keep most in tubes, but want to have at least 1 in a capsule.

Personally I hate toned coins, although I know some collectors pay big money for them, but to me it make coins appear "damaged" or with defect etc. Ah well everyones tastes are different.

Can anyone tell me what constitutes "ultra high relief"?

Is it a set number of mm above the rim or lowest point on the face?

    Cheers

I think the "ultra" is more a marketing term than anything else, but most likely refers to a high relief that is really prominent. I don't think it refers to a set number of mm above the trim or anything along those lines. I could be wrong though, so don't take my word for it. :D

Yeah I agree, it does sound sort of a marketing ploy. Maybe "mega high relief" will be next lol

Nothing wrong with it, I like the innovation by these mints, gives us more options!

Yeah I was a bit upset at this but still got some of these.
I was wondering if anybody can find a capsule. I did want at least one preserved nicely.

I contacted Provident and asked if they had an capsule that could fit this or come up with one. They said for the time being there isn't anything available or have plans for anything. Individuals just come in a plastic flip.

Someone will come up with a capsule as this round seem to be a real "hit" atm anyways. I remember when the 2013 1 1/2 oz polar bears came out, there were no direct fit capsule to fit them either, eventually found some in Germany that were direct fit.

My worry with using these foam spacers is how do you know they are safe as they contact the coin, if the material is not silver/gold friendly you could end up with discoloration on the edge etc.

CoinSafe makes the capsules and reduction rings...

" The black and white foam rings are made from PVC free, archival safe, and flexible Volara material. "

It looks nice, but I prefer less thick coins/medals and bigger diameter. Would maybe buy some.

They could put some piracy related music to the video posted before, like:

    ;)
