No in the original thread he said he paid 26% over spot. Now he has fluffed it down to make his purchase look not so silly
I was in email contact with market harmony a few years ago and he mentioned that he used to come to newcastle for his other business. There you go, some useless info for the night!
well obviously my poofteenth is a lot more then your poofteenth guys. you do know what a poofteenth is don't you? if you hold your thumb out and almost touch it with your index finger, that tiny little gap, is a poofteenth. I agree that it's best to buy as close to spot as possible, in a few weeks time silver will probably go back up a bit so it's not really gonna be an issue, and when it's worth $1000oz it's gonna be quite insane, isn't it? i'm not going to worry about getting spot ($1000) + $7 premium, it's just be $1000, see, i'm a fair guy. So I take it that all of you only just started stacking this past few weeks too? surely you's weren't around this time last year and paying $40oz, that would be a contradiction wouldn't it? it would almost make one think that maybe footy is the smart one and us who paid $40+ last year are the silly ones?
^^^ i dying on choco;ate down throat laughing tooo hard does look like bottom feeder sinker suitable for snappers
I use them sinkers on a surf rod, two ganged hooks with whole pilchards on 'em, and whooshka! cast the thing out for miles
Who cares when you can pay an extra quarter in premiums now! Your traveling back through time to the $40 spot days
Aww man, woke up this morning to find the original thread gone. It was giving me such a laugh too. I guess rule 2 came into play?: Howcome this rule doesn't count for sledging New Zealanders?
Hi Footycard. Congrats on your purchase. Unlike some who are driven to rain on others parades through a sense of desperation to appear right/ wise / whatever I'll just offer this. You made your first int. purchase, congrats again. Whilst I personally would have reservations about paying that much over spot I realise that's me, not you. Perhaps more importantly, apart from getting a decidedly interesting addition to your stack, is that even if you did pay too much, I somehow doubt if this will send you to the wall. - you could therefore look at it as a real positive. Cheers.
From the Market harmony site: http://marketharmony.net/precious.html "Novelty bullion made from .999 fine copper has been produced by Market Harmony in the past. These products are currently unavailable as we are upgrading equipment to handle higher volumes. Until this equipment is acquired, we have suspended all direct sales of these products. The secondary market for these products still has these for sale." So it looks like possibly some future value if no longer made. I live less than 60 minutes away from both Market Harmony and SteelCity Copper. Might be worth a road trip someday. And footycard, to quote your comments in one of my threads: "so I think your doing it nice, investment + fun". Nice purchase.
I have been quietly cracking up at the triangle love/hate shennanigans going on the past couple of days. The funny thing is that I poured myself a couple of 925 triangles last week. Got myself a new blowtorch and wanted to play at melting and casting some different bars. I used the method of cutting a hole in some wood and lining with carbon from a candle as a mold. Was a bit of a prick to get a rectangle bar to come out just right. Poured one in a triangle and it worked perfect first go. Will post some pics when I get around to the camera => computer => internet hassle. Might even pour a big old 6ozer... reckon I can sell it for 26% premium if its all pretty and shiny? Mintage of 1 has to go in my favor? lol
I like it. I'd probably only buy 1 though. But then again when spot is < $30 who cares - might as well make it 2. I think some of the knockers are probably still trying to bring down the average price of their stack after stocking up last year at > $40 (They only paid spot though... to show how astute they are...) If you think about it, being reckless with your money and paying 26% over spot at $30 for a novelty bar is still a lot smarter than paying spot at $40 for something more conventional (normal bars/coins). Anyway... Everyone needs a few cool things in their stack. It's what makes it interesting. Bill
