If anyone is interested in obtaining a Aragali, govmint.com is offering them for $450. One per customer.

This is where I purchased my Owl coins, but this was before the big rush. They had an advertisement for them at $100 apiece. My wife loves owls so I bought 5 for her. The sales guy tried to get me to buy more. I just didn't have it, plus at $100 a pop, that was a big risk for a coin that I thought was a gimmick. Now I can kick myself for not buying more! You won't see these coins again for $100!

The Argali does not seem to be doing to well. I sold mine for $300
Seems people are losing interest. I've seen the owl dropping to $450 from $1,999.00

I'd love to own an owl if that's a real one for $450.

I think the fakes going around aswell as the dealers asking such high prices for these before they even released them is killing this series.

so - where do people see the value of the argali going? Will it hold its collectors value or is it going further south?

I think in the long run it should still do well. The Mongolia series is a beautiful series with only 2,500 mintage in each piece. I just think people are sort of depressed right now with gold and silver coming down from the highs and where it could possibly be going.

I agree with Joe. The Mongolia series have some peak, usually when there is a new coin in the series coming out, or a COTY award assigned.
Other times, due to silver falling, and to chinese fake coins around, market price could go down but I am quite sure that it is always a good investment in the long run.
I believe so much in this series that if any coins should by a chance drop down to issue price, I would buy all coin around and save for future ;)

    Alex.

Totally agree, Mongolian coins have by far the best design and most creative. I think the next success coin would be the 1/2oz gilded nature series, hope it can make into COTY in the next coming years.

Not sure if anyone here is interested in these still, but euro collections are running a promo to win a free Argali on their facebook page
