lol again you are wayyyyyyy ff the mark

Putin wont be bitch slapped by the US it will be the other way around he has had the upper hand the whole time so far.

the US will try to impose sanctions the Russians will laugh in their faces as the US cant impose any meaningful sanctions on the Russians without CHina's backing and they wont get that.

you couldn't be more wayy off here.

one day to go until your crazy theories and predictions are proved bogus.

I'm more interested in MH370 tbh right now - the referendum on Crimea's a foregone conclusion.

Let the resulting G7/EU/US/Western flap & media/economic fiasco ensue...

Good for metals prices too, so I ain't complaining - but Putin will get a slap from this - might take 6 mths to sink in, but RU's aspirations to ever be as important as US on the World stage will fall over in short order. China knows this too - which is why they vetoed today at the UN.

No one likes a bully, and regardless of what you or I think about a US system owned/driven by its own sort of corruptive/corrupted influence/s and its merits, Putin is a serial thug who deserves a good wake up call imho...

It's going to be an interesting week for sure...

As I've said several times before in this forum, Putin will be forced to retract through sanctions.

Wow - and there was me thinking that was a mythical monstrous fire-breathing creature from Lycia in Asia Minor composed of the parts of a lion, a snake and a goat - offspring of the union between Typhon and Echidna and a sibling of Cerberus and the Lernaean Hydra!

Damn!

Yup - Clearly, I'm wayyyyy out once again... ;)

Nothing has kicked off yet because Russia needs China's approval to stop accepting USD for oil/gas.

China's in a bind because the top blokes who were supposed to come in and facilitate their plan to maneuver the Yuan as reserve currency are still missing on that damn plane. All will be relatively inactive until the fate of that plane is known to Chinese officials.

China doesn't want to be the reserve currency. To be the reserve currency, you have to run a deficit.

out of 1.5 mln people who went to election in Crimea 96% voted to be part of Russia
Crimea asked UN to accept it as a new country
Official currency in Crimea is russian rouble from now on
Putin will have a speach tomorrow in senate

meanwhile in mainland Ukraine's one of the most populated cities a meeting
almost all Ukrainian mass media tells it's just 1-3 thousand people on the streets

Now people in these areas demanding to hold a referendum like Crimea had.

But ,I'm still waiting for Putin's back off )))

The way the story's developing though is multi-tiered, not least on a whole heap of other issues such as:

Nuclear compliance of RU, and UA's stockpile
Cooperation on Syria (which also funnily enough has implications with China & wider Middle East)
Arrangements for use of RU territory already in place to facilitate withdrawal of US troops in Afghanistan

Then again despite me never having been a Putin fan they fact that he stepped back on the suggestion of a referendum and just let the internal vote in Crimea return today with an 83% turnout AND a 96% approval for secession was a great way to play the US/G7/EU, leaving them in a total flap. Hey - He's A DEMOCRAT!

So the talk today turns to 'sanctions against (currently) 24 individuals' involved in the process of taking Crimea away from UA, in other words a bunch of lower & middle tier 'yes men' on Putin's team - laughable really.

I also think Obama's statement that 'US will never recognise the outcome' of the referendum today was hilarious - 96% of the Crimean voters have.

That's just whack lol!

From Putin's media team at home though, the new boss of the RU's state news agency promised toast for breakfast...

http://in.reuters.com/article/2014/03/17/ukraine-crisis-russia-kiselyov-idINDEEA2G01G20140317

17/3 (Reuters) - "A Kremlin-backed journalist issued a stark warning to the United States about Moscow's nuclear capabilities on Sunday as the White House threatened sanctions over Crimea's referendum on union with Russia.

"Russia is the only country in the world that is realistically capable of turning the United States into radioactive ash," television presenter Dmitry Kiselyov said on his weekly current affairs show.

Behind him was a backdrop of a mushroom cloud following a nuclear blast.

Kiselyov was named by President Vladimir Putin in December as the head of a new state news agency whose task will be to portray Russia in the best possible light."

Ain't that always the way.

Thanks for finding that video worldbubble, going to the original URL of the video, Youtube helpfully translate all the Russian and Ukrainian into English at the click of a button. The comments are telling.

My favourite, expressing the sarcastic mood of those who like me don't believe the media:

I never said that I said your predictions :

1) sanctions will have an effect on RU and force them to act ----
2) that there will be a new reserve curency backed by gold
3) RUssia will turn off the gas to europe
4) Russia will back down

and a few of the other doosies you suggested in the OP of this thread were wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy of any reality

Basically Russia is giving a big FU to the USA and Europe and there is NOTHING that they can do about it, besides chest beating and words, which will have 0 effect on this matter.

if you are retired in Ukraine, the way out is to vote down IMF package, since you will get an inferior sum as compared to those promised from Russia :)

the US supported thugs in Ukraine will be the next to flee Ukraine

the gas pipes will be bursting very soon and,

the forthcoming IMF loans, that the US is trying to channel from IMF and telling the Russian to stop their foreign Aids....

so that IMF got business to do.

what a WAYANG show man, the world can see clearly, be it in Russian Language or other natives languages.

the shadow, there is none. The media is not telling us what is actually going on there. Stop wasting time to watch the useless tv. :)
