    It's dropping!

Probably wise to use the BTFD here.

I suggest you register with btc-e https://btc-e.com and then you use a trading wallet while downloading your private wallet.
Get in asap and start trading

An option: I purchased via LocalBitcoins.com . It is not the cheapest blah blah, sure sure..., but you can get some coins quickly enough that way for starters.

Totally agree with localbits, pay what you have to!
Make an account with coinjar and register your bank account to withdraw funds at a later date etc but buy from localbits asap to start trading asap.
The market is madness, buy n hold - I recommend nmc but ltc is going great - hell it's all going mad!

From your LocalBitcions wallet send them direct to BTC-e and start trading. The whole process could take just a few hours at most, even for beginners.

Okcoin in China is currently trading LTC at 310 CNY - which is almost $51 USD ($56 AUD), compared to BTC-e's $40. That's a 25% premium over the BTC-e price.

Puts the $60 AUD prices on BTCmarkets into perspective.

Chinese money is now chasing LTC by the looks of things - for the last few days BTC China's BTC price has been lower than Mt.Gox which is a turnaround, and BTC volumes on ANX have died.
