I'd love to be given all the cash and perks that the blackfellas get though...

Maybe it benefits a military-industrial complex which needs to wage war periodically to justify it's existence, for the people who pay for it not to know the reality of life in the rest of the world?

Rightey O. Time to bag the Krauts and keep this thread OT. :D

It's easy to provide a public transport system in a country of 82 million people and a pop density of 233 people/sq.km AND ESPECIALLY when you've had your modern day economy and towns and cities totally rebuilt with foreign aid 70 years ago AND you control the purse strings of Europe. Might be easier to provide a mobile phone system that provides complete coverage seeing as it's a small country.

I know one things the Germans can't teach us - humour. :/

FYI Shiney I am in CBD Sydney and I still have shit 3G/2G coverage.

That excuse (population density) gets used by Telcos all the time and it's getting old.

You not German are you? :p :D

Edit to add: The only thing I ever learnt from a German was how to speak English, tie my shoelaces and brush my teeth. Well, there was independence when it came to toileting but I won't go into that, and learning how to drive.

I think you will find that the krauts financed their own rebuilding as well as helping out the rest of Europe, not to mention the fact that they had to shoulder the lion's share of funding for building the state of Israel on top of the guilt trip built around the holocaust...

I can think of many countries to bag far ahead of Germany. Verstehen Sie?

Er...no, that was the United States throwing shedloads of cash at Europe under the Marshal Plan.

The Germans were the ones living in bomb craters.

That's right - they started out living in bomb craters and then rebuilt their country once again from scratch to be the leading country in Europe.
Not something which many other countries could/would ever achieve!

Er...no again. The "throwing shedloads of cash at Europe under the Marshal Plan" was not an act of selfless benevolence as sold by US propoganda. It was in effect long term loans. The US benefitted as much as anyone else in this supposed act of generosity.

renovator this wouldve been a good question to ask the pope.
this may surprise you but this is all about those catholics again.
I read about this ages ago and its a little fuzzy , but in conquering the world the catholics planned it by splitting the world into 3 . And made an overall plan for each section.
First world is what we think of as capitalist countries run by white folks. This includes south africa , most of europe. america and the white run commonwealth countries.
second world is the soviet bloc
and third world are the rest.
    Thats where the terms originated

This plan has long since been modernised, but you can tell the yank he's an imbecile and that if he lived in a proper 1st world country like Australia he would realise that.

    That was a good one

Though I am affraid you did not meen this to be ironic

Let me assure you, that germans do not think Australia to be third world,
    althought that that joke
is a joke I could have made, if i am disappointed about the equipment that I find at a workplace

    AND by the way
When I visited the US last time, they really asked me whether there are cars in Germany.

    My answer was NO

Tell me, something Kraut. Why is it that when Germany prides itself in its orderliness, civility and manners, i had 2 German ars*holes with shaved heads, queue jump not just in front of me but a whole lot of native Singaporeans, in order to get a taxi? Yep, they just ignored the entire line of about 15 people and got straight into the taxi.

Even the locals were outraged by their arrogance and rudeness.

These 2 louts really tarnished my opinion of Germans as a whole.

I think there are ars*holes in every nation and
I usually view Germans who shave their heads suspiciously.
From what I suspect about them when I read your discription, it would be probably best if you put those somewhere and never send them back to us
We do not want those here.

That's what I thought at the time (that the remark was a humorous reaction) and no-one took offense. But it made me realise that in some aspects Australia was not the best in the world.(I was young and foolish enough at the time to believe it was).
I don't have any particular liking for Germans, but I have met very few men I would call "a gentleman" and this kraut was one.

Every nation has its strengths and weaknesses
I believe that we are only really weak if we are to arogant to realise that there is still something we can learn from each other
