What are you writing it with? Vb.net? Would you like a hand with development or porting to Mac (at a later date)?

Have Just been reading comments, Glad to see it is useful to a few of you.
So I have dressed it up a bit more, Taken my Nic off it and are now calling it 'Silvers Stackers Toolbox'. ,
My original intention was to write a small program that had all the things I wanted in one program, But Im happy to share it.
Have added another 4 Tabs, (And stll have more ideas to add more.)
First I added the Calculators (I copied the layout from the forum calulators - I added a live link to the forum as way of a thank you.).
These work same as the forum calcs but have the added advantage you can save you figures and recall them for editing at a later date.

Then added a page where you can call up the latest Kitco Graphs, for Silver, Gold, Platinum and Palladium.
Program goes to Kitco and just pulls out the Chart Picture, so its quicker then doing a browser refresh.
Also added the charts for the 1yr , 2yr, 5yr, 8yr and 10yr Silver Graphs ( these are updated daily.)
So if anyone has another few graphs they would like - Post the link in this thread and I will see what I can do.
The Graphs must be either gif or jpg format (I cant do PNG at the moment.) and they MUST always have the same name.
I just finished this Chart section this morning - and are still testing it looking for bugs, but so far its seems to be stable.

I'm starting on 2 Databases next, - One for storing data on Numismatics and the other for Bullion Rounds and Bars, I would be thankful for any ideas about what info

should be stored in the Numismatic section,
I have set program up so that if you place it in same Folder as last version it will update databases without wiping out any data you may have already entered.

    Latest Copy Here.

Any errors or comments - please post in this thread.

I'm Using Borlands Delphi 4 Std., As for porting to a different system, I wouldn't have a clue about that. I've never had any Programming training at all. I just fell into it by accident - Had a lot of time to kill at a Truckstop so bought a Magazine to read - It had a free Copy of Delphi on the CD, so I just started playing with it.
So I'm strictly a Suck it and see Type, Just try something, if it don't work, try another way - Just keep that up till I find something that works.
But feel free to make a Mac Copy - As far as I'm concerned this is in the public Domain, Do with it what ever you want.

Well spotted - You are correct - Have just changed it and uploaded a new version.
I did look it up at the time, but must have read wrong figure, I had 35.2739619 as conversion, thats just for normal oz.
    Have replaced it with 32.1507466

    Hi,

How do ya uninstall it. I need to start over and when I just "delete" it and download a new version it brings back up the same info I put in the previous version.

    Thanks

When you run the program it creates 2 files, a Database File "StackDatabase.abs", this stores data entered into the Purchases Screen.
and another smaller File "Stack.INI" Delete both these files and run "Stacks103.exe' to create 2 new empty files.

However, I'm glad you posted this as you have reminded me I haven't posted the program up on the forum.
Verson 1.03 the last one I posted has a few errors and is not finished, I have since fixed errors and finished the program.

Have added a few things, so I suggest you download latest version "Stacker105.exe" Link is below.

    http://www.sticksplace.org/Dloads/Stacker105.exe

The program now imports latest Spot Prices and Exchange Rates, the default exchange rate is set to AUD/USD so you will need to change it to the British Pound BP/USD, to do this go to the setup page, at the bottom of page check the box for Kitco Imports, this will open up a page where you can change the import details, there is a list of different exchange rates and the data needed to set it up.
Just change the top set of figures (Exchange) to 309, 121, 6, 73, 7 and you will be set for the British Pound.

The next block along on the workbar is the high/low gold and silver prices, this just keeps track of the high and low during any period, it updates when you have set program to Auto Refresh (1 min.) there is a button in Setup Page that will reset/Zero out these figures when ever you want.

The last Block (Info Only) Can be set to any bits of info that is on the Kitco Page, I like to keep an eye on USD index and the Dow Jones.
You can reset these to anything you like, If not sure how to do it just post here and tell me what you would like displayed in these boxes and I will post the setup numbers for you.

Maybe, trying to learn obj c at the moment. If anyone wants to do a mac version in a small team, let me know.

Edit: Sticks, would you be able to send me the source code/images? I don't know Delphi, but it woul probably make things a lot easier for me to replicate.

The Spot price is always in US$,
If it was in local currency you wouldn't need an exchange rate, You would also need to write a seperate program for every currency as each currency would need to get its data from different places.

So all you need is the Correct Exchange rate set up, and enter GBP in the box for 3 letter Currency code.

What happens is it gets the Spot prices (US$) and multiplie it by Ounces in your Stack, this gives value of Stack in US$, then we use Exchange rate to convert stack value to Local Currency (GBP) - This is broken down to Gains/Losses in value and percent%
then under this it displays total value of stack in local currency.

What I could do if a few people wanted it is to put another window next to spot Prices and show Spot Price in Local Currency as calculated with exchange rate..

It would be kinda universal then and you could go global my friend.

But I can live with it as it is. Just a thought. If you do upgrade the software in the future and we need to download the new version, would all the items listed in purchases have to be re-entered.

Thanks for all ya help :)

No need to re-enter - Just leave database file there and upgrade will recognize and read it.

Have just updated program to show Local Spot Prices, it is off by default, if you want to use it go to Setup page and check Box where it asks if you want to display local spot prices. (Download update from same link as in earlier message.)

It will seldom agree with your local spot charts, a few cents out one way or the other. I think the reason for this is when Kitco refresh their page (every minute) they then refresh all the other Local Prices Charts. So not all charts are upgraded at same time, although they refresh every minute the spot prices and exchange rates are always moving second by second. So when updating a Local Chart it might be 10-20 seconds after they did main page and spot and/or exchange rate may have changed a little bit.
Just download and replace the original file - leave all other files in place and all your entered information will still be there
