    Thanks. I thought there was a copper version as I saw the picture you posted 2 pages back on the copper version.

    I thought so too but that may have been a sample. From the last few postings on Chinese Medal Websites they only mention brass, silver and gold. No more mention of the copper medal.

    Hopefully it matches with this CoA, luckymonyero sent me this pic:

    [imgz=http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/478_20120831cc30aa-03.jpg][IMG][/imgz]

    I asked for prices on brass, copper and silver. He said "copper and silver have not been released. Silver can be booked. But do not know the price."

    EDIT: "silver about 580-600g silver, 99.9% silver, 1100USD"

    The COA says the medal is minted by another company other than Shanghai Mint.

    It could be the company is a subsidiary (I don't know) of Shanghai Mint but the COA is definitely not signed by Shanghai Mint.

    The COA doesn't clearly state whether brass or copper. It is either one, can't be both. If luckymoneyro says brass, then brass.

    This is good info low. Now we don't know if NGC will grade this medal but who knows? They graded the Xi Shi with pearl medal. Anyways imho, it is ok to spend $120 but probably not such a good idea to pour in the big $$$ unless of course you really like the silver medal.

    From the serial number it is brass. From my collection, the brass always has a H letter and the copper will have Z letter.

    IMHO if NGC does not grade this than not much potential in the USA. Anyone who is interested in this medal would have read about this in this forum or the other Chinese Coin Forum so they would have bought it directly from Lucklymoneyro as well.
    If you are planning to get NGC to grade the medal the 1991 Panda Medal in the buy/sell forum is a good buy even though there is no COA.

    Completed ebay listings for a graded 1991 medal go from $100-$200 on ebay.
