Awesome set...the copper version rarely comes up for sale.
Here is the packaging for the 4 Beauties set. Unfortunately the brass medals were stolen in a home robbery a while ago, but they left the packaging :/
rbaggio, geesh man, seriously? so sorry to hear. were they after your precious goods? i'm glad you are safe. dang man, that totally sucks.
rbaggio, so sorry to hear that....I hope you filed a report with your local police department. I hope those scum thieves are caught and made to serve prison time.
Here is the QIN Emperor I recently received. Very Nice Indeed. I'll be conserving and grading this bad boy. This is the one I used my credit card for, and glad I did.
That Great Wall side is awesome! Nice medals all around. Congrats.
Nice medals. Their condition looks quite good. Any idea which company minted these?
Here's a set that I like. These are brass medals, Wu Fortuna. About 70 mm, with a mintage of 300 pairs.
They were minted by a private mint called Shanghai New Century. What makes these medals interesting is that they were designed (engraved?) in 2012 by Zhu Xihua, the Shanghai mint artist who made the ancient mammoth medals. The style seems quite different from his more recent work.
Great looking medals NumiKat
I just came across this exquisite near perfect grade Chinese medal set for sale from one of our very own: http://www.ebay.com/itm/14168429721...l?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=141684297219&_rdc=1
If I didn't have a set myself going in for grading soon, Elkslayer, I'd buy those up from you.
Not sure of the price but i had to start somewhere, hope the next 2 sets grade the same or better.
If it grades better than 69 then that will be extraordinary and you ought to then be looking for a minimum of a couple thousand USD $$$ if you plan to sell it. I wouldn't sell an MS70 Xi-Shi yet...the modern Chinese medals market is not mature yet but when it does, an MS70 for a Xi-Shi will be worth considerably more than it is today, I believe.
