1987 New York Sino-American Friendship 1 oz Platinum (top left). The only platinum MCM I know of.

Better pic with both sides from the WWW. New York skyline still had the twin towers at the time.

Here is the packaging for the 4 Beauties set. Unfortunately the brass medals were stolen in a home robbery a while ago, but they left the packaging :/

Here is the QIN Emperor I recently received. Very Nice Indeed. I'll be conserving and grading this bad boy. This is the one I used my credit card for, and glad I did.

Nice medals. Their condition looks quite good. Any idea which company minted these?

Here's a set that I like. These are brass medals, Wu Fortuna. About 70 mm, with a mintage of 300 pairs.

They were minted by a private mint called Shanghai New Century. What makes these medals interesting is that they were designed (engraved?) in 2012 by Zhu Xihua, the Shanghai mint artist who made the ancient mammoth medals. The style seems quite different from his more recent work.

If it grades better than 69 then that will be extraordinary and you ought to then be looking for a minimum of a couple thousand USD $$$ if you plan to sell it. I wouldn't sell an MS70 Xi-Shi yet...the modern Chinese medals market is not mature yet but when it does, an MS70 for a Xi-Shi will be worth considerably more than it is today, I believe.
