Has my friend found his Chinese Redback Coin?
His sister-in-law visited China around 1984 and bought these coins home for him.
She would have paid only a couple of dollars for them.
It never crossed his mind that these coins are valuable.
    He will be chuffed

OK, my guessestimate about $145 value of silver coins to swap for a piece of brass?
You guys are nuts but keep bidding anyway :)
    Cheers

You've got 2 coins but only auctioning off 1, is that correct?

Would you post both and let the buyer choose, return the other?

I still haven't made up my mind whether to auction just one coin tomorrow evening or sell both
If the bids are high, I might just decide to sell the second coin to the underbidder and avoid the hassles of fleabay
Whatever happens, the winner of the auction will get the better coin (pictured on the left hand side).
My grading skills are pretty average however it's good enough to pick out which coin is the pick of the litter.

Hahaha Yennus, you're such a kidder... just making sure the rules of the auction, you know Im bought up, right?

It's a cool story, gets these coins given from China ages ago... I wish him well with his sale.

Treat others as you would like to be treated.

Aurora, sounds like he may have Vault protectors also... any chance of a piccy or 3?

Hehe...Could be worse i suppose... Comeaux might bid something like full market value.

When two hungry pandas want something, best to stay out of their way.

I like that video clip from Europe "never say no to a panda".

Not really sure where the bidding is at with all of the trades, or even how many will go under the hammer...

    $150 for each

Now look everybody... this is getting a bit ludicrous bidding up a piece of brass... I want to refer you to some of the dangers that some people have said about stacking Pandas.

"Pandas are crapola, too many fakes floating about, too hard to move unless slabbed due to so many dodgys around... I would hit up sone lunars and kooks myself" (Bank Manager)
    http://forums.silverstackers.com/to...0-oz-generic-stack-to-numismatics-page-2.html

Obviously this Panda is in OMP, so it's NOT guaranteed to be legit... it could be a FAKE... Better wait for someone to slab this before bidding.

"To purchase numismatic coins for investment is something only the very experienced should attempt...Lunars, kooks and Canadian Wildlife coins appear to have the greatest potential due to design changes and limited mintage." (dccpa)
    http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-14539-numismatic-silver-vs-silver-bullion.html

This is obviously a numismatic coin... definitely not recommended for the average stacker... stay away... DANGER... potential to lose the ENTIRE capital invested in this Panda. You might want to accept dccpa's recommendation this one time, go to the Buy/Sell thread and get some Lunars, Kooks and Canadian Wildlife coins instead.

"i do believe that numismatics is a bit of "misdirection" - like you can have a kilo of silver, but look at this astonishingly beautiful dime you can have instead...so there's certainly valid reasons to avoid numismatics... " (silvstack)
    http://forums.silverstackers.com/to...0-oz-generic-stack-to-numismatics-page-1.html

Risky move buying this brass shim. If the SHTF tomorrow you may regret purchasing this coin! If this were to happen, please don't feel bad, and contact me asap, I will gladly offer you spot +5%.

"... could your graph (Pricepedia) not also be read as pandas being in a bubble more so than silver and it could come crashing down even more than silver itself and as such is riskier to invest in for long term safety net investing?"" (heike1a2b3c)
    http://forums.silverstackers.com/to...0-oz-generic-stack-to-numismatics-page-1.html

Pandas could be in a BUBBLE! That bubble could burst tomorrow, and this Panda may not even get you an ounce of copper!

"Nothing like the OCD nature of a collector's mindset...
It's one major reason why I avoid numismatics in the first place.
Once you're focused on the 'collecting' aspect, you start to lose perspective of the 'investment'.
Be very wary of your rationale when you start thinking this way, you run the risk of making bad choices." (auspm)
    http://forums.silverstackers.com/message-302002.html#p302002

This is a risk that could turn out very bad! You may be starting to lose perspective of the investment!
(Please ignore Fishball's comment regarding this until after 8PM).

I'm not even sure if this brass Panda actually even counts as a REAL Panda... it's missing the Temple of Heaven on the reverse... and it has Communist stars instead!

Please feel free to reverse your bids, I'll cover your position.
