Really? Hostilities or they just don't understand? Why is that?

I know Cantonese is very different, but...

Actually, I don't know. If you are aware, China is like Europe. Europe has many languages and races. China also has many languages and races, even though there had been a standard script and mandarin, a Beijing dialect, that has been promoted and made official language in the last 50 years or so.

they speak Cantonese there, so if your skin is dark, and speak Mandarin, they would think that you are one of the mainlander who climbed the gate out lol
Since Yuan is stronger than HKD, such attitude seems to have disappeared, they consider Y = HKD, 1:1
My uncle visited there in 1996, when we got out of China, into HK customs, he was guided into the special room, he got dark skin, so we all have to back track and look for his disappearance in HK custom, why you ask him in for questioning? we travel as a family

Yes, I know that. I actually studied many things about China (mostly things about the economy).
But I was unaware of such hostile attitudes in HK towards people speaking Mandarin.

Probably because the Chinese government are such arseholes and have a habit of murdering people who don't want to be forced into communism and dumping their bodies in HK harbour.

What you study on the Chinese economy from what is published by the MSM is not real. Anyway, very little of the MSM is real.

The hostility isn't open but it's possible to sense it. The Americans call it "passive aggression"? The HK economy depends a lot on PRC tourists so it's a strange thing to me. But there's no such animosity in Macau, which is also cantonese. I guess it's something to do with politics. Maybe some backside playing tricks going on. We've seen it in the US politics as well. :D

No, I read books... from Jim O'Neal to Jim Rogers and many other materials.
Have a bunch of books on my list, among the authors of them are Peter Frankopan, Bruno Macaes, but even Henry Kissinger (yes, I know, the old "Machiavellian fox").

Would you recommend some more "reliable" sources? :D

Russia must take urgent steps to cut its use of the dollar to a minimum as the new U.S. administration of Joe Biden signals it will ramp up sanctions, a top diplomat said.

"We need to barricade ourselves against the U.S. financial and economic system to eliminate dependence on this toxic source of permanent hostile actions," Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in an interview today in Moscow. "We need to cut back the role of the dollar in any operations."

What are they going to use for international trade? Bitcoin?

If the Russians cut back on the dollar usage, the US can easily cut back on stimulus. Creating the illusion that the dollar is "stronger".
(True: stimulus is anyway a lot more than the Russians need to use in international trade)

For California now fulfills Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s nightmare vision in his prophetic masterpiece “The Possessed” or “The Devils ” as to what unlimited liberalism must inevitably create – if not stopped in its tracks and rolled back. https://www.zerohedge.com/political/california-collapsing

Looks like the USA (via the IMF) is going to solve that problem for them.
