Looking forward to getting mine as well. On a related matter, anyone have an idea why the mint doesn't take the extra step and make a true "proof" kilo? Imagine the resulting 8 coin proof set. Make it a 100 set limit. Just dreaming (and saving in case it happens).
Another email update: Choice Bullion Pre-Order Status - Update 2 You are receiving this order status email because you purchased a 2014 7 coin Silver Proof Mexico Libertad Set from Choice Bullion We have received another update in regards to the release timing of the 2014 Silver Mexico Libertad Coins. We have been informed that Banco de Mexico has begun shipping the items that they have already received from the Mint. Unfortunately this does not include the Silver Proof-Like Libertad Kilo or 7 Coin Silver Proof Libertad Sets. We are being told that the soonest these will ship from the Mint is next week as the mint is not shipping any products out this week. With this additional delay, the new shipping estimate for the 7 Coin Proof Sets and Proof Like Kilos will now be around the second week of August instead of in July as originally expected. We understand that it will now likely take almost a full month longer than expected when you placed your order so if for any reason you are unable or unwilling to wait this additional period of time please email [email protected] and we will process a full refund immediately. Please be aware that our entire pre-sale allocation for the 7 Coin Set is completely sold out, any cancellations will result in your reserved set being immediately offered to customers on our waiting list. Thank you again for your continued patience. Best Regards, Choice Bullion
The set has been pushed back to sept... I know choiceB is not at fault here because it is out of their control, but I can't help but feel my first Lib purchase is turning out to be a little off.
From the notice: The mint has a policy that requires it to use only Mexican produced silver for the production of numismatics, a policy that does not apply to its bullion products. This is why the bullion Libertads have already started to show up at retail while most silver proof Libertads are being pushed another 2-3 weeks back. To me, this is great news, there is always a silver lining to every setback. This means, that more than likely the 5 oz and 2 oz will have a very low mintage, thus spiking the value of an already great value in this set. who knows, the 5 oz and 2 oz could very well be in the low to mid 100's total mintage each From the notice: The mint is actually melting and refining inventories of existing silver coins from their vault in order to produce the silver proof Libertads for 2014. This makes me wonder if they will have to revise previous mintage numbers in case they had to raid them?? I have total confidence in Choice Bullion, and will wait for as long as need be. I see a really great investment made by all those who pre-ordered, and possibly even one of the few jackpots that so rarely come around
Lol at all the hassle to get silver atoms mined in Mexico in the numismatics. Melting/refining already produced coin stocks to produce these. I wonder if any customer of these cares?
I don't think the customer cares where the silver comes from. But this is a good move on the Mexican Governments side. This ensures employment to their own people within their own country. Keeps their mines operating by law to produce the proofs Made in Mexico, means Made in Mexico from start to finish.
That's all fine, but in the end, the customers decide, and pay that Mexican people for the job. If that payment is at stake due to the job not done due to some decision to which country the silver atoms should origin from, then I think that insurance just became a cause for exactly the same it was supposed to insure against.
Check this out. Completed ebay sale of a 2013 Libertad 5 coin proof with the 2 oz. and 5 oz. proofs added. $635. Would seem to bode well for the 2014 7 coin set coming our way. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-Mexico...90401333?pt=US_World_Cois&hash=item2a41abc035
AND !!! it is not even a real authorized 7 coin set, just the 5 and 2oz added to an authorized 5 coin set also!! I just picked up the 1982-2014 1oz Libertad Bu Set of 35 coins The set consists of 35 1oz silver (.999) Libertad coins. Beginning with the 1982, the set has the addition of the 1987 Double Dot, the 1991 Type 1 and the 1991 Type 2. Beautiful examples of the 1998 and the 1999. The set also includes it's newest member: the 2014 1oz silver Libertad BU.
