Last year we have seen a 3 coin Proof set that was a "private" commissioned set This year a 7 coin setwith same background... For the most collectors the 5 coin set is the one and only because of the long history - that is the only one that is issued because of intention by the Banco de Mexico
We can find 2 versions of 5 coins proof set of 2013. One with box and Coa. Another with acrylic folder without Coa. The later is 20 to 30% cheaper than the one with box and Coa. It form by fraction coin which explain by db23. I am full supporter for the box and CIA version even it is much expansive. Kg libertad also with 2 version which is proof like with box and paper of authentic and bullion version. The later is mainly for Europe Market and much lower price too. Hope my information is correct since I New to libertad
The 5 coins that are sold with that acrylic case are not official in any way. They are just a few coins assembled by an ebay seller and placed in an aftermarket case that he had some private company create. The official sets from Mexico, the 3, 4, 5 & 7 coin sets all come with official COAs and boxes. AFAIK only the 5 & 7 coin sets will be released in 2014.
Libertad Kilo wasn't issued as bullion version ins 2013 As db23 already mentioned the acryl set is handmade by a private person and nothing official
The proof and long term money is in the "official" releases by the Banco De Mexico. Anything else is just a mishmash of assembled coins.IMHO People trying to make a buck off of uninformed buyers *kin to Chinese Fakes, even though they may be real coins, the assemblies are still fakes to me, and do not merit my hard earned money
Not that I am interested in the bullion version, but I didn't know that none were minted in 2013. This means that the 2013 kilo size Libertad in all versions is truly scarce compared to other years since for most other years the Proof-like kilo was also minted alongside the bullion version kilo....but not in 2013. More than ever now I am tempted to buy a Proof-like 2013 kilo Libertad. Anyone knows what the initial issue price for the 2013 PL kilo Libertad was? .
Lucky me I just got one. Try apmex which they still have around 10 pieces last week. I personally do not like to buy raw coin from apmex. I also the supporter of original set rather than assembley set
You are lucky to get a 2013 kilo Libertad. I generally try not to purchase from APMEX because I am charged high state taxes on all purchases from APMEX. But if that's the best price after taxes added, then of course I will be open to ordering from them. .
The proof-like kilo and the 7-coin proof set have been available for order for at least 2 weeks now. Member db23 can take orders on these from you. I suggest to private message him if you want to assure you don't miss out. .
