I've been watching Doomsday preppers on Fox/Austar every week.It's about folk in the United States who are preparing themselves for the world's finacial collapse,war,civil breakdown,government collapse, end of the world predictions, etc..Most are storing huge amounts of food,water, guns and fuel.It's great to see there views and stratagies.But I'm yet to see an episode of any of these people also storing gold and silver .Why is this?
Possibly because they wouldn't want to advertise it. Having said that, their fears will soon be realized. The United States is in its death throes. The authorities are "prepping" themselves for financial armageddon - and what follows. Hence the desperation to disarm American citizens. Before which, pay attention to more false flags, including, potentially, a deadly internet virus that disables Americans accessing their own bank accounts. For those who have money in the States, in banks, need to be ultra-careful. Banks are pillaging gold, silver and whatever they can get their hands own, left, right and centre. They and the 1% will be heading to underground bases, while combative Americans are hoarded into FEMA camps.

During the MF Global scandal, Jon Corzine ordered segregated customer funds to be secretly redirected into accounts in JPMorgan. During this beta-test, the banking cartels got away with stealing $200 million of customer money without suffering repercussions. Recently we have seen other types of theft out of customer accounts held in major banks like Bank of America (BoA) wherein they drilled into a customer's safety deposit box, confiscated family heirlooms and transferred them out of the bank. The customer's property was sent to North Carolina before the theft was detected. When the customer attempted to retrieve their property, BoA claimed they did not have a social security number on file which was why they emptied out the safety deposit box. However, when opening a safety deposit box, the customer's social security number is provided on the initial documentation. The lie BoA perpetrated on the customer was simply to distract from the fact that they overtly stole out of their customer's private account. And this small-time thievery may be a symptom of a larger banking scheme looming in the distance. Guass, which is an online banking surveillance virus, has the capability of electronically transferring information out of customer accounts to be redirected to another location. The banking industry would be devastated if suddenly they were infiltrated by Gauss which would cause every banking customer to become insolvent overnight. This sets the stage for the banking holiday that we've all been warned about. For example, the mainstream media would be used to announce that Gauss has infected the all domestic banking computer systems. In order to purge the virus, all banks would need to shut down for a specified amount of time in order to reconfigure their computers. Perhaps on a Friday afternoon, the major banks will all announce that they will shut down to customer activity so they can "get rid of" Gauss from their system. The banks might say that they will reopen to the public on Monday morning. Customers would not be able to conduct any financial transactions, either in the bank or online over that weekend. And with the promise that everything will be ok on Monday, there is no threat of a banking holiday because the cover story is that a virus must be purged before regular banking can continue. However this would be a false flag meant to pacify the public to avert mass panic. While the general public would fall for the cover story, the banking cartels would simply electronically transfer all customer funds from private checking accounts out to off-shore banks where they could not be touched and cover their tracks. Then on Monday morning, while the reports that the banking industry suffered greater infiltration than expected, the DHS and US armed forces would be poised to enact martial law to control the potential for domestic insurrection caused by the realization that every American has had their money stolen from them by the banking cartels in one fail swoop

Did you guys hear about the Russian air force Bombers entering US air space. The ones that drop nukes. not once but twice. last month. Probing US defence, reaction time and logging the interceptor flight paths. Escorted Ruski Bombers within 200 km of the US coast. Reaction time better be good. or all the silver in the world wont help.
What's even more gobsmacking is that some "thing," some unknown force, recently "nuked" some of America's undergrounds bases - the same underground bases designed to accommodate America's privileged. That can really be only one of two things: financial armageddon, which is coming regardless, or the end of times as per the Mayan Calendar, 21/12/2012. These bases are utterly amazing (or at least were), one of which is hidden somewhere beneath Denver's airport - the same airport which depicts frescos of the coming of the end of the world. It sure is strange, no doubt about that. Obvious answer is 'you cant eat gold', real answer is they are probably hiding it or not stacking it.
Does that mean when it comes to the crunch,food, water,guns and fuel will be more valuable than gold and siver?
No! The scenarios these guys are predicting, none of us "regular" folks could survive it, so why bother worrying about it

There was a thread devoted to stacking food, water emergency supplies etc but I think it got deleted. Quite a few silver stackers were into it but personally I would wait until things start to really deteriorate and be prepared to act fast when the time comes . Storing food and water takes up a lot of space and it can go off or mice could get into the food etc. You could start stocking up on other less perishable things though which there could be a run on. I think fuel goes off too - correct me if I am wrong. Guns are a not to be discussed on this forum. I think starting a vegetable garden if you are able to would never be a waste of time.

We are no closer to some apocalyptic event than any other time. In fact we are less likely now to see some all out nuclear exchange than anytime post 1945. 1950's and 1960's there was "duck and cover" where people were told that hiding under their dinner table would protect them from a nuclear blast. The Cuban Missile crisis of 1961 damn near resulted in WW3. Today the risk of major powers engaging in mass destruction is less than the 50's/60's but other less apocalyptic events are perhaps just as real if not more so (terrorist attacks and so on).
Not buying it. My accounts are FDIC insured. That means if anything happens to them, the US Govt will set the account right. Pipe dream for a massive failure, yes BUT that means the govt must say (in the Guass situation) on Monday morning that not only was all my money stolen, but they are not going to honor the FDIC insurance. Now they have a problem. First off, I'm just not going to pay any of my bills. What do they gain? There are 11,000,000 people in Chicagoland. Are they going to turn all of our water and power off in an attempt to quell us? You think soldiers, who also just lost all their money too (and their families did as well) are going to start shooting civilians over a bank account? No way they'll ever control us, and we're not a heavily armed city. Indianapolis would never fall to the military unless it was bombed and then, what's the point of stealing the money if you're going to destroy everywhere to shop with it? In the same line of thinking, if the bank cartels are working solo and steal all our money, the govt could blame/arrest them, freeze accounts and get things back to normal with a simple rollback to Thursday. There's just no gain to causing a national collapse to steam electronic money. I don't see a win. But, I do see this situation as something that could happen for another reason. If the economy spun out of control, they could use the virus as a reset. Tell everyone the records are destroyed and implement a plan to level the playing field. That could really work, but it would have to be global and they'd need a seriously smart plan or the world again would fall into chaos. And I've said this before, if it does fall apart that far, I don't see silver being worth much. Doomsday Preppers don't need silver. They plan on defending what they have and then taking what they need and the corner store is never going to take your silver for food. That being said, I do keep a week of food, water and $100 in singles in case the power goes out (which it has severe storms). I could see the local store taking cash for food as long as I don't care about change. Just my 2 cents.

Nothing new here. Many rednecked Americans have been prepared for Armagedon for the last 30 years. Trouble is their canned foods are well past their "use before" dates. The Swiss converted their underground bomb proof cellars into ski-boot rooms. The military are getting worried that their nukes might not work - changes to materials, decay, oxidation etc. and no ability to let a few off just to check. Biggest worry for low lying East Coast is giant tsunami when half of the island off Africa called Tenerife slips into the Atlantic. That is more likely than civil unrest in the USA when their national debt is called in by the Arabs and Chinese.
