Platinum Scam

Platinum is not a PRECIOUS metal !

It's true use is as an Industrial Catalyst. It is constantly pushed by those with a vested interest in making money off a Metal that is somewhat difficult to find & extract but by no means precious.

If u want to know how the scam works ? take a deep dive into Diamonds & De Beers. Diamonds are useful as an industrial commodity because of their hardness. They are not particularly rare. What are called " Gem Quality " are somewhat difficult to come by from all the ordinary rough stones. The advent of mas production of cheap " Man made " diamonds has killed the market, but Be Beers is spending $Millions to keep the market illusion going.

Platinum is the same. There are large & powerful groups that see a leverage point if they can convince the market that Platinum ( also Palladium ) is all so " Precious " that u should pay a price premium on it. A load of BullShit.

Just another Industrial Metal that has some unique qualities but certainly not in the classification of " Precious "

But those looking to make dollars will play any angle they can to extract those Dollars from the market place.

Yes it is and has been for a very long time. It’s considered rarer then gold, harder to mine and produce, has a melting point higher then gold, harder to make into coins and what not.

I think over the years people just like the gold more over platinum hence the price difference between them both.

Ur arguments are nonsensical. Just because something is " considered rarer then gold, harder to mine and produce, has a melting point higher then gold, harder to make into coins and what not " doesn't make it " Precious ". Titanium has many of those qualities, yet it's not more expensive than Gold ?

There are many elements that fall into ur rarer then gold, harder to mine and produce, has a melting point higher then gold, harder to make into coins, but don't make the precious metals category.

mmm, why isn't " antimony " a precious metal ? or a dozen other metals ?

U need a better argument than that.

" I think over the years people just like the gold more over platinum hence the price difference between them both ".

Just because u think people " Like " Gold more than " Platinum " is not a valid argument.

Hahah okay well I’m not going to argue with you because I ain’t got the time and it seems like you know all and like to troll.

Happy Stacking mate.

Looks to me over 50% increase in a very short time. Maybe SKULL do much better with something else.

Its precious because of its properties and rarety but its not a money metal.
Ive been hesitant to ever buy any physical but im loaded with pt etfs.
Same with Bitcon.

The issue that I see in this thread is that no-one has defined the term “precious metal” clearly.

That's more to the point I'm trying to make. What's the definition of " Precious Metal ". The Dictionary is rather vague.

Plus to get other's views on the subject.

I have done " much better " when I brought most of my Silver & Gold in January 2020

EDIT: We will see if Platinum holds that gain over a more significant period of time.

Don't you need to understand what "precious metal" is before you can claim it's not that? Otherwise eveyone is going in circles.

I'm claiming that Platinum isn't a precious metal. Just a hyped industrial metal. ( see my original post )

( referencing Platinum )

The points I Boldened in the quote, then why isn't Platinum more valuable & preferred over Gold as the world Premium precious metal ?

Now if there was a distinct Dictionary definition of what exactly constitutes a " Precious Metal ", then there would be clarity & certainty around the term.

I just remembered a story I have seen a few times over the years.

It's the story of how Aluminum was once the " most precious of metals ". Aluminum was so " precious a metal " that the Emperor Napoleon of France, didn't serve his distinguished guested on plates of mere Gold. No, he served those distinguished guests on plates of " Precious Aluminum "

So even a Dictionary Definition of " Precious " may need updating at times, if they ever gave a hard definition.

Both Gold & Silver have been considered " Precious Metals " going back 1000's of yrs. Platinum NOT SO MUCH.

Point being just because of 1 or 2 factors, or a special interest group wanting Platinum to be a precious metal, doesn't make it so.

Platinum has the symbol Pt, its atomic number is 78, and its atomic weight is 195.09. The name is derived from the Spanish platina, meaning "silver." Platinum was discovered in South America independently by Antonio de Ulloa in 1735 and by N. Wood in 1741,
