Would a florin that weighs 11.41 grams be a fake?

I doubt that, can you show a pic of the coin? I think 0.10 grams is nothing and would likely come down the accuracy of the scales.

This is a bit unusual considering they usually wear over time and get lighter.

11.31 g , at times some year maybe slightly.

you need to check your scale, accuracy maybe out.

This type of coin they are pretty spot on for weight, size.

I took it to get it xrf tested and it was sterling silver. Thanks for the replies

That weight sounds a bit off. I have a florin in my collection that weighs around 12 grams, so 11.41 grams might indicate it’s a fake or tampered with. I’d suggest taking it to a coin expert to get a proper evaluation.

I have 4 sets of scales and they all weigh minutely different values.Nothing in a monetary sense as we are talking about 'cents' difference but unless one has more expensive calibrated scientific scales that are definitive I would allow for the margin of error in pocket scales (Assumed to be)
