I think they will introduce the "bug meals" gradually with nice packaging, tremendous advertising and "delicious flavoring", prolly even coloring
If we've been munching chemicals for so many decades and didn't care, then why would we care?
After all, KFC chicken ain't chicken, McDonald's chicken nuggets contain silicone and chocolate quite often doesn't have a bit of chocolate either.
More than 50% of Nutella is sugar, oils and other crap, the cocoa and hazelnuts part is very little (and even that's mostly crap, not real!). So, Nutella too is a bunch of crap.

Aye? Are you talking about anti-foaming agent? These are non-toxic processing aids added at miniscule amounts for functionality. And do you realise that silicone dioxide is abundant as an anti-caking (free flowing) agent in almost all powder blends such as spices, seasonings and sauces and almost any baking premix? Perhaps people would prefer to buy clumped rocks. You'll poison your mind harder with your youtube and google education than consuming the products (unless you just overconsume sugar and fat which most people seem to do then blame benign additives for their ailments). If you have a sensitivity (allergen or intolerance) then better to accept your p!ss weak physiology and avoid it than start a fear campaign. Gluten fear has wrecked the food industry and it's just a god damn wheat protein.

Lol. Isn't it in the oil they'd cook with anyway? Oil without anti-foaming agents creates an unmanageable mess from my experience.
This is one thing of many i would miss in a total collapse.
We dont eat very much fast food but when you get a hankerin for it, its hard to eat bugs and feel as happy.

What is freakin' eerie about Soylent Green is that it plays in 2022, when the world is transformed into a police state, in which there are tremendous food shortages.
Shocking coincidence.
But let's always hope this remains a fantasy and that the politicians will miraculously find a peaceful way to work out things by this summer... or autumn at least.
I think there are many things they could do with regards to the stupid war, sanctions, economic-financial warfare, the East vs West paradigm.
Wisdom is required. Perhaps a non-political, more humane influence is needed for peace and for stopping the economic warfare. I was a fan of Pope John Paul II., but the current Pope is a lame leftist. So, little or no hope from his influence...
The way things look right now, it's best to stock up on necessary electronics, technical stuff for your house and car, FOOD and water especially. Only then precious metals.

The deep poverty is very close to the US shores and it would cost very little to help them.

From what I've heard, the EU is still pressuring all its members to cut themselves off from Russian gas. Some members openly oppose this due to their dependency on Russian gas.
I think there are 3-5 alternatives to Russian gas all around:
1. North Sea: Norway, UK, Germany, Netherlands have the interest to sell their (expensive gas) for the rest of Europe, but most countries (such as the Balkan countries and Central Europe are very far and there is no infrastructure connecting them to the North Sea):

2. Algeria/North Africa: this is were Spain, Portugal are getting most of their gas and I believe France as well (again, no infrastructure besides a few southwestern countries and little supply)
3. US gas (most expensive) - few ports are too far from inland Europe (landlocked countries such as Switzerland, Austria Czech Rep. can't access this gas) and the transportation of liquid gas could cost cost a lot; interruptions regarding transportation and environmental disasters would occur
4. Caspian Sea gas: I think there is some link, but as far as I know if only connects parts of the Balkans - not much info on this, but I think the Russians also have interests in the Caspian region
5. Eastern Mediterranean: no infrastructure, too many conflicts between Greece/Turkey/Israel/Syria/Cyprus... most of the gas remains unexploited... I think this could be a great opportunity, but there is a lot of division
Other opportunities include Black Sea gas and Middle Eastern gas (Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey...) but due to no pipelines, this gas should also be transported via ships.
Imagine the large number of ships, the complicated port infrastructure and the costs. If baking a pizza with an expensive gas could cost you 750 $, you'd better off eating grass!
I think overall the dependency on gas should be minimized. Electricity might be the key. But from what sources?
