It doesn’t seem like new research. It’s describing ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome) during treatment of COVID-19.
I think that COVID causes ARDS in some is the new bit.
I think it is referring to ARDS while the person is having COVID-19. i.e They are on a ventilator.

When was that new? Pretty much everyone in Italy and NY that were dying in big numbers in the early days, everyone that was on a vent were presenting with ARDS type symptoms. It was A-typical though.
Dude you can try to run that narrative all you like because he’s recovered but the fact is he was in a serious condition. No doctor is going to give a patient Dexamethasone and an experimental anti-body cocktail that hasn’t gone through the full approval process if he was going to shrug it off like a normal flu. His SPO2 was certainly dropping to dangerous levels.
Please stop it with this flu stuff. It’s nothing like the flu. It’s many many times more deadly than a seasonal flu and the numbers support that.
His ego will triumph and eventually kill him...America ppl should stop this rather than encourage him to stand tall
