eBay disaster PLEASE HELP!

I'm sure you'll be telling eBay about the conversation you've had with North Bay Coins - if they did in fact report this person, and now you are too - surely eBay can't dig their heads in the sand and just let this happen again?

This person needs to be banned, and multiple reports of this types of activity need to make it happen. Unfortunately, I don't have much faith in them to do it, but I really hope they do with all the information you provide them

Just as a side, how on earth did it cost over $200 to post? I assume that includes insurance? And if so, do you have any protection/refund options with that?
International shipping back and forth would cost a kidney

I have contacted eBay and informed them of what happened to Northbday, and they told me they are referring it to someone else due to the high value amount.

I’m surprised this buyer is still allowed to operate on eBay after their last debacle with Northbay.

the $223 included insurance (which was approx $180 of the total postage).
Because the buyer has acknowledged they received the coin I can’t see how I could make a claim in that front. If sellers were allowed to leave negative feedback I would have noticed any wrong doings the buyer had made in the past. I just hope eBay come though and realise I’m in the right.

evil_ss
even best case scenario, eBay will force the return, the buyer will send a fake item, I make a claim under seller protection, I might lose the postage costs of $223. 18 years on eBay with perfect feedback and now I’m getting fucked.

No...you dont want the coin returned...simple...whilst the sellers protection may have covered northbayrarecoins...they are a
business with lots of sales...you are not...I doubt ebay will cover you for 5K

northbayrarecoins have given you enough proof of the modus operandi of the buyer

this is more than enough evidence for ebay not to force a return of the coin..get tough if necessary

cheers grant

sorry you posted whilst i was typing

you will be fine now I think...

you will be referred to someone with common sense

Please make sure you inform the ebay rep...that this could have gone very badly
and they should have banned the buyer after northbay reported them
for what they did to them

you still dont want the coin back though

cheers grant

the problem now is whether eBay will issue the buyer with return postage of the item as normal post, without any insurance or expedite postage (as always)... then evil_ss will have sleepless nights waiting for his coin to come back.. 'IF' actual coin is in that parcel... in reality, like slavaja had experienced, parcel will turn up empty...
I feel your agony mate... hope this works out for you...

I’m pretty pissed that eBay even let this weasel make another transaction after last time. It does say in PayPal I’m eligible for seller protection so fingers crossed.

Can anyone get a reliable location for this address:
Qender Tirane
Pallati 9
Tirana
Albania
1001
Albania

I can’t get it to come up in Google maps

They don't have accurate house/unit addresses in Albania. I know that makes no sense but it's just the way it is over there!

Qender Tirane translates into English as "The centre of tyranny" according to google translate,

Maybe leave that one off the "must see" places for 2020

I did see there is a place called Qender, Tirane with a shop in it.
https://www.facebook.com/Stili-Im-1650727138579104/

so I wonder if Qender actually refers to the central district, considering Tirana is the Albanian capital and another way of writing Tirana may be Tiranë
With a map search for Qender it comes up as "public plaza" and is quite central. A satellite search shows it to be a quite large homogenously grey area, consistent with a plaza, perhaps of the vast Soviet variety or maybe a past royal.

Internet is shockingly slow right now so I can't refine the issue further soz, or take a street view. so it is hard to say if the grainy sat view is a roof of a complex or a large pedestrian area.

Pallati = palace, per the translator. I wonder if there are multiple semantics for that word. It might for example refer to a Soviet era building. As per the last post by Michael might imply, maybe mail is then sorted at that level?

The nerve of this guy. He really thinks he knows how to play the system!
View attachment 33378

He does know how to play the system...obviously

But so do we....

Do not give him an address to return the coin too...unless ebay's rep says so

and that is after you state to them (ebay) the whole situation, including the msg that
you got from northbayrarecoins...

and inform ebay/rep that if ebay forces a return of the coin then it is on
their (ebay's) head...and if anything goes wrong then you will not be out
of pocket under any circumstances and that you will take legal action
to recover any losses that ebays actions may cause to you
and get him to confirm this in writing/msg/email

ebay would have no leg to stand on in any court
you have given them plenty of evidence that this is a scam

cheers grant

eBay ruled in my favour!!! They were actually really good about it.

now the son of a ***** has raised a claim with PayPal. When is the pain going to end.

Great to hear

Seeing as PayPal and ebay are the same company basically id be telling your eBay rep about what this scumbag is trying to do with PayPal and hopefully ebay can contact PayPal and put the kibosh on it

I'd say it'll be a clear case for PayPal too as eBay will supply the fraud case to PayPal...

finally catching up of the fraudster

ain't karma a b!tch !!!

just a question about the shipping cost of $200, was it through Aus post? and you mentioned the cost had to do with insurance. Did I read that correctly?
if so then thats a waste of money to pay insurance, Aus post does not insure PM or coins, so if something had of gone wrong the insurance would have been useless.
Just a word of a advice in the future.

My suggestion for future transactions:

Record a video of you packing the coin, including close ups of the coin(s) on the video to show the quality and condition of each item. Do not make any cuts, record everything in one take and make sure the coin(s) never leave the field of view of the camera. Once the package is sealed up, make sure the shipping label with the tracking number is in closeup too.

If they contest and come up with crap like that, you have evidence the coin(s) was in perfect condition when shipped.

I would do the exact same thing when purchasing something online. When I would receive the item, I would unpackage it on camera. This way if the item is not what was paid for, or damaged, you have proof.

Very unfortunate to have to go through all these things to protect yourself, but there are scammers and scumbags everywhere now a days.

Sorry that you got stuck in this situation, I hope it gets resolved without you having to pay extras.
