In all seriousness, perhaps a little more substance to the original question?

Melt it and pour it into fishing sinker molds.
Then dip into molten lead for a lead coating.

Is say trying to make it look like something else would be tough due to its weight. Maybe plastic coating or rubber coating? Is say hiding or camouflage is best.

Go down to Games Workshop, buy the molds for making miniature lead war-games figures, melt and pour gold into molds. Have a solid gold goblin army, give it a really bad paint job so no one will want to nick it. Never take them down to Games Workshop to play with.

Basically, hide the shape, hide the colour. If it looks like an ingot or a coin it will be nicked. If it is shiney or gold coloured it will be nicked.

Of course when you want to sell the gold just melt your army, the paint will burn off, probably.
