Yeh well in any flock the wolves and the sheep dogs are usually in the minority. Just be happy being your ignorant sheep self right up until the wolf comes knocking.
That's like a climate scientist knowing full well a solar cycle is about to end and a mini ice age is approaching yet claiming it was the reduction in CO2 emissions that caused the cooling. Really really go have a good hard look at the stats. There HAS been "mass" shootings since and the gun violence prior to 1996 was already on a very steeply downward spiral well before the gun laws were changed. Those NZ'ers must be terrified of their gun laws and the mass shootings they are having with their liberal gun laws.
From Qld Police: As a rule, the law generally does not allow the carrying of anything that can be described as a weapon. This includes mace, spray dyes, most personal alarms, or any other items which have been specifically adapted, such as sharpened combs, knives carried for the purpose of self defence etc. In an attack or confrontation there are a number of options available that do not require physical self defence to fend off the attacker. Faking a heart attack, asthma attack, epileptic fit, faint or mental illness; Faking a coughing fit and asking for a glass of water; Calling out to a fictitious person behind the attacker e.g. "William, help me" - if you are convincing there is no doubt that the attacker will look around; Tell the attacker that you have AIDS/Hepatitis; Verbal response - negotiate with the attacker; Tell the attacker that "Someone will be coming back in a minute"; Ask to go to the bathroom to remove tampon/insert diaphragm; Be revolting - throw up, defecate/urinate/pick your nose; In the case of an attack involving a knife or other weapons, use the 'fantasy' option to remove the threat of the weapon, to enable escape e.g. "I've always fantasised about this happening to me, but the knife makes me feel uncomfortable..."; Wait for the attacker's attention to be momentarily diverted and seek escape; and/or Anything else that you can think of to stop the attack or create an opportunity to escape. https://web.archive.org/web/2011032...rams/personalSafety/generalAdvice/options.htm Taken from post #10 http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-77883-flash-light-personal-lesson.html
Well it is true that the socialists don't believe that you own your own body and instead you are the physical property of the state to be done with as the state wishes. In which case the decision whether to defend a person's body should not be in the hands of the person themselves.
We face some grim political choices: * Far left socialism, total state ownership * Far right authoritarianism, total state control It's like one of those old computer games where if you go far enough left or right, it raps around.
Individual liberty and total personal freedom has nothing to do with the Australian voter or anyone else, Why would I need someone's permission to be free, Its up to the individual how they choose to live, unless you like being a slave/citizen then its up to the socialist to instruct you on what to think and how to behave. 99% of public servants would take the shit the pants option
"Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty." Politicians will seek to curtail your freedoms. It has less to do with he fuzzy, shifting ideologies of the major parties, but instead is more about the temptations of power, the psychopaths who are attracted to power in the major parties and the fools who vote them in: "Against us are... all timid men who prefer the calm of despotism to the boisterous sea of liberty... We are likely to preserve the liberty we have obtained only by unremitting labors and perils." --Thomas Jefferson to Philip Mazzei, 1796.
"Those who profess to favor freedom, yet deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightening. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will." -- Frederick Douglass
Freedom was lost the day the first socialist government got elected, piece by piece our freedoms get eroded without barely a murmur of protest. and people still vote the #$%^#s in Equality for all, what could possibly go wrong
