The far right were socialists as well. They even put the clue in their name - you know National Socialism. The opposite to socialism is Individualism whereby the fundamental principle is that individuals are the natural owners of their self and consequently imbued with the inalienable property right of their person. This recognition of the ultimate natural right is the only internally consistent, logically arguable (and bleeding obvious) starting position for any political philosophy.
I think calling Hitler "far right" is the left trying to re-write history. Hitler was a socialist. A racist one but still an authoritarian socialist.
