Why is silver more expensive than Bismuth?

There is a lot less Bismuth in the earth and its mining output is a fraction of silvers. Yet you can buy a pound of Bismuth for 19 dollars?

Had never heard of it until now.
Quick google shows me it has a few uses and may be one to track from time to time.
I like the "lead alternative" as this could create a great demand.

Because even despite a 40% drop in the price of silver, bismuth is still better at giving you the $#!ts! :-P
