Hi,
I have someone traveling to the US and can get me some silver coins.

Can someone please advise which would be the place/store to buy some silver eagles so I can tell them to get for me.

thanks

I'm going to be in Australia in a couple of months, anyone want to recommend a good restaurant?

Every city will have dealers but the US isn't big on major walk-in dealers. I lived in the north burbs one of the major cities (Atlanta) for most of my life but bought 75% of my stuff from internet dealers like Apmex or at the common coin shows. I would buy on occasion at a local pawn and coin shop but no one would go 25 miles out of the way to go there.

When you find what city(s) your friend will visit, ask the question at this forum goldismoney2.com There are members there from all across the US (some of you guys too).

I've bought on a number of occassions over the past 6 months from Gainsville. I'm yet to find a cheaper source. Searching constantly but to date, this appears the cheapest source in the US.

welcome luckylukeonline, it does appear you are correct. If someone can find cheaper please let us know. So anyway, why are you lucky luke? :)

Gainsville near Tampa, Florida has good prices but presently very limited inventory.
Be warned however they don't accept credit cards registered to people outside the USA.

@ mmm....shiney! I felt a little guilty lurking so thought it time that I registered. :D Lucky luke (luckylukeonline) is simply a play on my name for a website I built long ago. Essentially I collect and sell old German coins (Third Reich), mostly to US buyers.

Of note for silver collectors though, from 1936 - 1939, the Germans made two different silver coins, the 2 Reichsmark at 62.5 % silver (5 g of silver per coin) and the 5 Reichsmark at 90% silver (12.5 g of silver per coin). I have thousands of each which is great for both my home business and for collecting ie each coin has an inherant silver value in addition to the "collector" value.

I usually use my website profits to buy either more German stock or modern gold and silver. To date, I've found Gainsville the cheapest and easiest way to do this (buying modern silver and gold). Australian customs will always present difficulties though, and no doubt more so as bullion increasingly challenges fiat currency. Cheers!

That's a good site you have. I've checked it out a bit in the past when searching for Reichsmarks.

Thanks "Kram". Spent MANY hours building it. My first website. I have absolutely no training or prior experience so it was a steep learning curve. Started building it about 8 years ago. Now just a simple matter of regularly updating or making minor changes occassionally and letting it make money for me. :) A nice little "niche".

I was in Florida for 2 weeks in May and had hoped to buy ASEs from Gainsville but they had run out of stock.
Regardless of who you decide to buy from check their stock before travelling and avoid disappointment.
