When you trade out of precious metals

So I was thinking today. When I hand over all I have accumulated for what ever is undervalued at that time, I don't think I could part with 100%. I think I will be keeping a few coins etc forever, as a bit of a memory of the cycle we are in.

What would you keep?

I don't think I could part with my gilded 2008 kookaburra
 
I think I'll keep about 15% of my stack. It's good to have a hedge against the government and banks.
 
I intend to sell all plain bullion and retain any stuff like cute kooks in silver, and $200 coins, S1 lunar coins, in gold. Has to be something more interesting than metal to deploy into - I hope. I wouldn't mind starting up a quality rooming house that people can actually enjoy living in - having experienced the opposite. Or maybe a multiple occupancy in Northern NSW. Or maybe I'll have a car accident on be on drip nutrients and a colostomy bag
 
I am going to keep my Lunar dragons, I am going to make a nice display for them, one day.

I am going to keep my Liberty Dollars, they are what got me started and they are still very interesting.

The rest can go, if it looks nice it might be given as a present to someone and if it doesn't then I don't really mind, melt it down. I haven't tried to complete sets so I haven't really put much effort into collecting the rest of the stash. I might keep a few of the interesting ones like the Silver Stackers but even them I may end up selling.

I will take all the money I make and use it to pay a hit man to run Finicky down in a car "accident" and I will then take all his silver. I will sell all of that, mostly junk anyway I bet.

Will keep a little but in the end I'm here to profit. I'm sure some of us will return to Silver Stackers 25-30 years from now when the cycle repeats:)
 
I intend to keep the few silver numismatics and predec that i like and some gold for the kids. I like having the gold as financial security.
 
I might liquidate half, then swap the remainder between gold and silver to continue increasing ounces of both.

So there will still be someone to talk to on ss if you hang around!
 
Just wondering,

Who has considered the emotional connection to their stacking, many have exibited in this post?

In good times like now(relative) consideration is easy.

But in tough times, with PM mania in full swing, while watching UNREALIZED profits & self satisfaction to the fore,

still easy???


Has anyone considered mental & emotional preparation to ensure goals achieved ARE goals REALIZED!!
 
I'm not emotionally attached to anything, when the price is right everything goes.

Maybe I'd keep my Mongolian hedgehog, just because I think it's the best 1oz coin money can buy and I didn't really buy it to sell.

I wish I had your ability to detach myself :)

However, knowing what i'm like, I purposely did try to buy very boring, generic stuff, so it's harder to get attached to.

Imagine if everything you bought had numismatic (and sentimental?) value ... it'd be so hard to part with it.

I still can't see it as any more than a chunk of metal - a mere commodity that can be bought and sold at any time. And if it can't be bought, then that is when I'll sell.

However, I do like buying pieces that other people have emotional attachment to, because they tend to produce the best returns.

Everything in this world is for sale at the right price. :)

I'm in PMs to make money, that is fiat. I would be in trouble if I started to get emotionally attached to it considering it's pretty much the only thing I invest in. Don't worry I'm not a psychopath Hotel, about the only thing I am attached to is my family :p
 
I'm selling 100% of it eventually.

There's heaps more cool stuff in this world than coins with images printed on them.
 
...I guess I'll keep a couple of Dragons now that I think about it. But that's it.
