When do people think war with Iran will start?

Agreed, iranians are lovely people.

But crystal ball says not in an election year, but the war drums are beating hard, and it already has countries like russia and china on edge. Doubt they would want a full confrontation with the usa, but would offer logistical support and weaponry to iran. Not going to be a walk in the park for the states, but i wouldn't put anything past them given their track record in the past decade. Just hope australia can stay the hell away from the next war wherever it may be.
 
I'm willing to wager: -There will be no overt military actions by United States or Israel against Iran between now and the end of 2012, midnight 31st December 2012, Universal Coordinated Time.

I have a number of factors I'm monitoring on a regular basis, and they all indicate overt US or Israeli military action against Iran as 'unlikely'.
 
There'll be no war until the USS Enterprise reaches the Strait of Hormuz... if the Iranian's aren't goaded into sinking it, the Americans will do it themselves and blame it on the Iranians...then it'll be on.

Last reports (a month ago) had 'The Big E' crawling her way through the suez. Nothing's certain has come from STRATFO for about 2 months!

The first on-the-record comments, regarding the bombing in Bulgaria, from Israel's Netanyahu are not the most politically correct. His ire with the world's ignorance of Iran's terrorist-fostering position is very clear as are his threats and promises for retribution. Not good. And sure enough, WTI crude is spiking on this news to $91.75 (18% higher than its EU-Summit lows) back to 2-mointh highs. Via Bloomberg,

I think that the next war will be fought in Egypt - Nato from Lybia in the west and Israel from the east and Sinai as well as the eastern Nile delta will be taken from Egypt and annexed to greater israel.

I dont think there will be a WAR with Iran for a while, if at all.

Why do you think Egypt will be involved? For what reason/purpose?

Imo, US/Israel will not start anything in Iran until the situation in Syria settles down with either an Assad victory (with Chinese/Russian diplomatic backing) or a collapse of the Assad regime and an insurgent takeover.

Iran will be a much tougher nut to crack. I can see air and sea based attacks on so called "nuclear" targets, but definately no ground invasion. Unlike Syria, internal opposition in Iran is limited. Something similar to what Israel did to Iraq in the 80s when they destroyed that French built reactor through air strikes. If this happens, it will only entrench the current theocratic regime in place.

Longer term, if fundamentalist regimes get entrenched in Syria and Egypt, these countries will pose more of a threat to Israel than the old secular Bathist party regimes of Assad and Mubarak. Imagine Hezbollah/Islamic Jihad on a scale of 100 million instead of a few thousand currently in Lebanon. There is no reason to think they will be less hostile or more friendly towards Israel.

Say goodbye to Christian, Allawite and other minorities too whilst you are at it.

The situation is extremely complex.
 
About time we had a decent war ,I do belive its all been predicted to happen starting in the midde east somewere in the next few years
about time we sorted the shit out .at least we will have front row seat ,the fourth crusade bring it on

You are crazy.
The more we bomb the middle east the more illegal boat arrivals we get.West Sydney already looks like beirut lets not go any further.Time to bring all our troops back home.
 
A little bit of border security will fix it ,I personly think we should blow the illegal boats out of the water prob solved
a good war will leave SFA people to migrate
