What are the risks in holding AUD?

Rawdog's whole deal is that he believes the US is heading for another 2008 style deflation, and I guess he plans on buying back when silver crashes. But what this mean for Australia?

With the mining boom over and the threat of US deflation, wouldn't that mean the AUD has a very good chance of tanking back to the 0.60 exchange rate of 2008/9?

You hear a lot about the future of the Euro, Yen, and Dollar...but I'd be interested in hearing about the risks of holding the Aussie dollar.

China.

Since the Chinese Renmenbi is not openly traded on the international market (peg-fixed to USD), the Australian Dollar is being traded to gain an indirect exposure to China.

I guess what I'm asking is...won't the Aussie dollar go to poop against the USD if that crazy high Dow takes a tumble?

Makes me almost want to hold greenbacks :(
