Slow and steady wins the race.........

Sunshine Council STILL need to have more boxes ticked.

The DA has been approved.

It now seems that a BA needs to jump the hoops.

The latest pool model now has a different set up at each end to make even more waves per hour.

Greg is in contact with many others in the pipeline who want to build a WWP, but Greg is fussy about who he will draw up a contract with.


The only other competition is from WAVEGARDEN who have almost finished the first pool in Northern Wales

I have been watching them for about one year and they hope to open in 3 months.

The council approval for them was fast compared to SC council.

The main difference will be WAVE RATE.

Greg always has said he is not concerned about being first to market, but being BEST to market.

Great to see Tassie contributed some of the research and development in the area of wave technology.

We've come a long way since Big Surf in Arizona.

The demand these days by many surfers for wave size and quality will be a determining factor for it's success as a wave pool.

Seems like Gregg Webber has nailed it in terms of the best and up to date technologies to produce the goods.

Keep us all updated boneyard, great stuff happening here and put me on the short list for opening day :P

This, the transcendence of perfect waves and the surfing experience itself over and above extraneous factors, is the point that Greg makes in the context of surf pools.

"The experience of surfing is fundamentally a transformation of your sense of place because while you're doing it your sense of time is distorted and place is irrelevant in the moment'".

For this reason Greg thinks aesthetics will not dictate the success or failure of a surf park, he thinks it will simply come down to the quality of the waves on offer.

"Are the waves good, or are they not good?" Simple as that.

The pool in SEQLD has not had any dirt moved yet.

Wavegarden are the opposition....

Greg has always said "Rather be best to market, not first to market".

Wavegarden has plans for 10 pools in Oz.

1st in Melbourne, 2nd one will be Sydney.

They can have their day in the sun, but WWP will be the Gold at the end of the rainbow.

All boils down to WAVE RATE.

WWP will leave Wavegarden in its wake........
