There will be a shortage of Perth Mint Silver Bars for a while!

I guess the world will need to rely on the next available source, you!

On a serious note, we should watch ABC Bullion to see if there is a pattern.

I can understand why, because then they can charge ever increasing premiums on their silver coins. We are already paying some of the highest premiums in the world, especially if you compare us to the residents of USA.

So how about it Perth Mint, low premium bars for your own countrymen? All some people ever want is just simple low premium bars.

From a very credible source!
The Perth Mint has stopped supplying 10oz, 1kg, and 100 oz bars until further notice.

I wonder if they are filing a large order for a someone / a country maybe???

Had a look at KGC this morning and they appear to be running low on 1oz / small bars..ie a lot of "pre-sales" only no stock on hand. ABC doesn't appear to have any supply issues and Bullion Money's web site wouldn't work this morning.

This sounds possible. No sign of a retail silver shortage in Singapore either. Perhaps pm is preparing a huge order of 1000 oz bars for China? If I were China I’ll be stocking as much silver as possible for my manufacturing.

Can someone setup a camera outside of Perth Mint and see if there are a lot of armored trucks moving in and out. Also like in the movie The Italian Job, you can compare the tire/suspension compression to see if there is a heavy load leaving. If so then maybe China is literally loading up the truck. :D

It looks like very credible source are not credible anymore...?

Perhaps ABC has succeeded in hogging up silver so much so that PM is at the moment (temporarily?) squeezed to prioritising higher premium silver coins production, and forsaking the lower premium silver bars until further notice. From the article Bron supplied above:
"Looking to silver, ABC Refinery is now the market leader in the country, having poached a few substantial clients that were previously sending their material to Perth. ABC Refinery now refines around 70% of the available metal in the country and has just completed a significant expansion of its silver refining capacity."

Now, the Perth Mint is suspending 1 oz Gold orders until further notice

Intriguing.

Cast 1/2 oz, 1oz, 2 1/2 oz, 20 oz, kilo and 50 oz bars out of stock. Cast 5 oz and 10 oz available (for now).
Minted gold bars still available in all sizes at the moment.

Given minted bars sell with a higher premium, maybe Perth Mint are redirecting gold away from lower premium cast bars for someone else's "big order"...400oz bars perhaps....just a "maybe" thought.

Just now, no Perth Mint cast silver 10oz, 1kg or 100oz bars for sale either on their web site.

I know ABC refines and sell 70% of the retail silver in Australia, but Perth Mint unable to provide cast silver and gold bars to the retail market...must be something going on re a large scale purchase of both metals.
