Silver tarnish

Hey guys,
I have a few vintage 1oz Engelhard silver bars that are pretty heavily tarnished. It's never bothered me, but I'm thinking of moving them on. Would it negatively affect the resale to remove the tarnish? I know that sometimes, particularly with collectible coins, removing the tarnish is a big no-no... I was thinking of giving them the soda/foil treatment which I've found normally brings things back to new without hurting the original finish.
Opinions?

Leave it alone
original patina what is preferred & tells people it's real
I don't understands why people want to " restore " vintage antique items
