Send bars to refiner/fabricator for melting?

Im sure this isnt a new idea.

It would be cool if Silvertowne, PAMP, etc would offer a service allowing a customer to send in say (10) 10oz NTR snake bars and have them melted to a 100oz bar with the refiner/fabricator markings/casings. Of course there would be a premium charge but I wouldnt mind sending in 10 of my shitty banged up 10 oz. NTR snake bars for this service. The customer sends in the bars, they are verified for weight and purity and adjustments are made per customer agreement.

What do you guys think?

just sell them and buy whatever brand you prefer KISS

Well, maybe an exchange program makes more sense? I just figured silver is silver when it's in liquid form. Once it has a stamp or serial number on it premiums are attached. A 10oz PAMP bar demands a higher premium than a 10oz NTR bar.

An exchange program would cut out the headache of trying to sell something. The exchange would have to be for a minimum amount say 100oz to make it worth while. Im just typing out loud here.

I actually want to do the opposite in the future get a few larger bars smelted down to smaller. Hopefully this will bring them back to new again?? In their 8 years they have lived under houses, in old safes, in the back of a car for a few months they go as black as and tarnish like hell.

Somehow I get the feeling that the 'adjustments' will be a lot more than you would like to pay.
