I have some of the older Proof Kookaburras with the Leather display case and COA.

I know the mintages were far less than the regular strikes, so my question is what do you think these coins are worth in todays market?

The figures on Ebay are kind of all over the place, especially when considering shipping costs.

My dates are
1990
1991
1992
1993 (sydney opera house privy)
1994
1995
1996
1997

and 2001

Thanks for the educated opinions

Does anyone want to see pics? :)

Yea we don't really see them all that often here in the states, and I was just wondering what I could expect out of them. (I'm leaning toward selling them)

Welcome Luke
Some of these coins has sold for close to $100 on ebay in the past. If someone needs a particular date to complete a set they will pay through the nose.
I wouldn't be too keen to shift those coins for less than $50 each.

Just wanted to update the thread, My goal was to net 100.00usd out of each coin, as I had paid over 50 apice for them when silver was in the 42.00 range.

After listing them on a local coin forum for about a month, I only got one bite on the 1994 (the lowest mintage) for 100. I figured it's time to go to Ebay with them at that point. They were listed as buy it now for 115.00 so I could net my 100 after fees.

Couple weeks went buy and to my surprise, on member purchased 3 of them at that price:D. The others marched on, and after the first month, I added th "or best offer"

Later on A guy put in an offer of 100.00 which would ended up netting me 86.00, I took it.
And Yesterday I got an offer of 90.00 on one (78.00 after fees+shipping) I took that as well, afterall silver is sitting in the 26's

So the breakdown is after fees

1990 - Kept for Myself
1991 - still for sale
1992 - $86
1993 (sydney opera house privy) - Still for sale
1994 - $100
1995 - $100
1996 - $78
1997 - $100

and 2001 - $100

I could stop at this point and enjoy the free Kooks, but really the only one I want to keep is the first edition.

So I guess I'll continue my patience on the other two.

the other day there was a 1990 proof on ebay for $36 and went without a bid....

I have 3x 93 in consecutive numbers. One of my first buys and still a favourite. Good luck buying them off me :)

Well its been a while, but I finished up with the proofs. I ended up selling the last two today for 100 each through ebay netting 86 dollars after fees.

So the collection I bought last year has come to a close. Final numbers Ares up.

So the breakdown is after fees

1990 - Kept for Myself
1991 - $86
1992 - $86
1993 (sydney opera house privy) - $86
1994 - $100
1995 - $100
1996 - $78
1997 - $100

and 2001 - $100

I purchased the lot at $42 spot silver and payed $56 a piece. Took a little time to realize they weren't for me, and longer to get rid of to make a prophet but Im happy now. I think I'll keep the first edition just because.

Cheers
