Postal cost from online shops

Hi, anyone got experience that although coins themselves are cheaper from supplier from A than B, the postage of B cost more than when purchasing from A.

There may have a thread here already but I couldn't find it. Anyone know there's a thread to list postal costs from our popular online shops?

This might come to handy to everyone who purchase PMs in a regular basis.
 
Without giving examples (I'm biased) it certainly is something to compare.

* per kilo postage charges instead of by actual weight
* optional insurance instead of included insurance
* mandatory insurance instead of optional or included insurance

What looks like a 50c/oz cheaper deal on a bar can quickly be eroded by the sting in the checkout.

These sorts of comparisons actually led to a defamation threat against the forum once by an aggrieved dealer who didn't like being mentioned as "expensive", so comparing specific examples can have unintended side effects.
 
well if they like to pay legal fees to waste the courts time then it may pay to let one of these defamation cases to actually go ahead, that will straighten things out pretty quick.

it's quite silly to even contemplate really, choice magazine online would of been sued to the rafters by now.
whirlpool would be lynched too.

Perhaps a new website dedicated to shonky dealers might be more appropriate then?

just kidding, but nothing to stop someone from doing so at all, if it's fact then your free to tell the world about it.

It's probably more useful for people to learn how to calculate the total cost of ownership anyway, since a post saying "Dealer A is expensive" or "Dealer B is cheap" becomes outdated as soon as they change their postage arrangements.

If they do that, then their previous reputation (and Google's memory) isn't reflecting the new reality, and that doesn't help stackers make informed decisions.
