Newbie question #103..... Can you still request rolls of uncircilated coins from banks?

You can but there is no guarantee that you will get a roll of unc coins. It is actually very unlikely that you will. If you request unc coins you will politely be told that they can't give you them unless they have them and even then most cant be bothered
 
Many banks have special ATMs that dispense coin rolls. However, very few are in uncirculated condition. These coin rolls are intended to be used by retailers (i.e. giving change to customers).
 
I used to have a friendly Postal counter lady that would keep an eye out for desirable UNC Rolls and I would reward her with a premium over face value.

Yeah I'm going to head to my local credit union tomorrow.
I think they may get their cash from commonwealth bank, but there's no harm asking.
