LOTR & Hobbit is my favourite movie, i watch them many times :D.
they are nice looking coin, but i am expecting more then that (especially proof silver). colorful coins more eye catching (IMHO), so i can see vividly hairy hobit or white wizard beard :).
thx for sharing anyway.

If they a limiting these to 1000 for 1oz gold and of the 6 coin set, I would see them going like hot cakes.

There are some mad Tolkien - LOTR & Hobbit fans out there - also alot of people have been waiting ages since the Hobbit film was announced in
the pipeline after the LOTR trilogy was finished. I dont see poeple losing $$$ on these or stacking away for an investment IMHO.

I am not a fan of LOTR and I don't find these coins extremely beautiful.
The price is also a turn off.

Alex.

For all Lotr fans. MCM is blowing out the 6 coin silver proof set. Last auction closed at USD$515.00 which works out to approx 70% of what i assume is the issue price of USD $750 which the NZ post office is selling this set for. A whopping 30% discount.

Not for me as I try to limit myself to lower premium coins, but it will be interesting to see how these coins do. I wonder why they didn't have the NZ Mint make these coins?

No interest in these at all. I don't think there will be a secondary market for these. Only people in to LOTR will buy them and that's it.
